Quick update after the depressing posts last week:o
The scan went great - slept really well all weekend and feel much more positive about life in general. No doubt there'll be more lows as well as highs but I'm like that generally anyway:o
Baby brain is kicking in big time. I've spent the last 2 days looking for my phone only to have a lightbulb moment this morning and realise I left it in my jacket pocket. A further hour looking for said jacket and it dawned on me that I'd left this at a friend's house at the weekend...
But even better than that - I tried to put the kettle in the fridge at work this morning. I'm sure if it the shelf had been deep enough someone would have been very confused when they came to make a cuppa...:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
End of month for me again this week so should be able to tot up the debts. Not sure they won't have gone up slightly but there has been a bit of a shuffle so the highest interest one is going down while the Egg which is a much lower rate has gone up (maternity clothes are a must now - I've expanded significantly in the last week or so and even my 'fat pants' dig into the bottom of the bump now:cool: ). Hoping to clear overdraft at Xmas so can start throwing a bit of cash at credit cards before SMP kicks in and I have just £400 a month to cover everything  (personal that is - Hubbles salary will cover all household bills and 6 month mortgage holiday will kick in after my last full pay).
This week will see the first pay since payrise was confirmed plus the £60 back from Messrs Brown & Darling so we'll see what that does to things...26.2.19/14.1.19: T MC 3629.26/3629.26 : VM 0% 1050/13876.59 : W 0% 100/1485 = 4409.26/18990.85 =25.17%28.1.19/28.1.19 Hubs 0% £400/£2,977 =13.44%SPC 2019 #073

Glad the scan went well and you're feeling more positive about everything. I must admit the dreams I had when I was pregnant were just vile.....I'd wake up sobbing 3/4 times a week....they do get better although I think I'm still suffering from baby brain and my youngest is now 10 and I still put my purse in the fridge on a regular basis.
As for the whole cot/cotbed/bed debate - I don't know of any scientific/medical reason why you shouldn't use one, but if you are planning on having any more kids then you'll need to think about the whole issue of having swapped over to a big bed for the eldest, long before the other one is born. I know plenty of friends that have ended up having to buy a new cot for a new baby just because the elder child hasn't/wont change into a proper big bed.
From personal experience swapping from cot to big bed was hard enough, let alone doing cot to cotbed to big bed.....but it all depends on the child"Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -

Thanks Pooky. No plans to have another. I'll be 36 next year and though I know it happens all the time and is quite safe I'm just not comfortable with the thought of being retired before my kids leave school... I'm getting more & more confused with this pram malarkey! We've decided to go with a car seat designed to go from birth up to 4 years old so don't need one that comes with a car seat.
I would like one that has a carry cot though so we can use it as a bed when we visit folks for the first little while but they are either extortionate or include a car seat we don't need (or both). We need something quite compact and light weight. I don't drive so will be relying on feet and public transport to get around so I don't want to b ehumphing anything too heavy around. We have a modern 2 bed flat so space is at a premium. Boot space in the car is less of an issue since Hubbles got his new car.
Mum and Dad have kindly offered to buy the pram for us but with no indication of budget despite Mum telling me we'll need to make up the difference (EVERY TIME THE SUBJECT COMES UP:mad: ). In addition Mum has declared they are buying nothing until after Xmas. She doesn't seem to have any concept of the lead times involved. And what if Bean comes early? I'm not sure how much of an indicator this is but both me and my brother were at least 6 weeks early. Its always the same - they offer us a great gift but it becomes a chore to even think about it as Mum starts dictating what we should and shouldn't be doing... She'll probably get the hump about us getting a car seat too...
I didn't mean this to turn into a rant. Sorry:o26.2.19/14.1.19: T MC 3629.26/3629.26 : VM 0% 1050/13876.59 : W 0% 100/1485 = 4409.26/18990.85 =25.17%28.1.19/28.1.19 Hubs 0% £400/£2,977 =13.44%SPC 2019 #073

There's a great pram centre in Glasgow Luc - http://www.glasgowpramcentre.co.uk/shop/index.php
Not far from the barras of all places but don't let that put you off. If you give them a ring you might find they can tell you how long the prams you like take to order and I'm sure we put a deposit down but paid the rest when we picked the stuff up so this may be an idea.Mortgage OP 2025 £7050/7000Mortgage OP 2024 £7700/7000

Luc I know what you mean
what you need is a sling....I found it great with Shannon i went everywhere with her in it
and just had a basic pram for all other times
We went to the pram centre too....paid deposit picked up 2 weeks before baby due....you can try them all in the boot too to see if they fit.

I got a 2 in one m & p pram which was rather pricey but exOH's parents insisted on buying it and I used it loads for the first six months then used a really basic buggy afterwards. DS was a late walker but when he did get the hang of it we didn't really use a buggy so twas gone completely by the time he was two!Mortgage OP 2025 £7050/7000Mortgage OP 2024 £7700/7000
