  • I have noticed my food bills rising over the past few weeks. I did some research on the interwebs last night to see what was going on found this.

it is far to depressing for words.

  • The price increase that stands out for me is vegetable oil, I'm sure I used to pay about 78p a litre for this. All the supermarkets including the likes of Aldi and Lidl are charging £1.08 for a litre now:eek:

  • I'm starting to wonder how long I can cope with the price hikes on everything. I keep telling my OH that he can't move in with me but I may HAVE TO give in eventually!!!! Where will it end and if Gordon Stinky Brown only gives me a 1.5% pay increase this summer I may have to hunt him down and give him a piece of my mind!!!

Forgot to get sunflower oil in Aldi last week so was prepared for a shock paying Tesco prices. Looked at Tesco own brand 1 litre - was £1.35. No Value equivalent. Looked at the Organic - £1.10 for 1 litre. Don't know how long this price will last for however.

stock up on rice and pasta while you can prices are expected to sky rocket soon. This is a recommendation from a buyer I know in the city.

A good idea to stock up on dry goods that will keep, it's the price of the 'everyday' stuff such as bread and milk etc that is getting beyond a joke.

what about Asda smart price tuna was 29p now 37p increase of 27.5%

and their cheap choc bars were 52p now 60p increase of 15.4%

I too noticed the rises in eggs, pasta and basmati rice has gone wild too.

Tesco 'Value' sweetcorn went from 15p to 29p a tin in the space of 3 days! This messing about with prices just seems to be a way of obscuring what people are paying week in and week out.
We all know it's going up up and up!
