Run a leather over the Merc will you? rain has left it all water marked.
to be honest i dont think you are on the same level as me, engineering and process control, go on tell me what you know about engineering.
What are you an engineer in?
I bet i know more about your job than what you do.

Yes, I bet you do, know more about my job than what I do - eloquently put I must say.
I'm an engineer, in an office, sometimes in one of those big noisy building that make things - factories I think we call them.
I employ like-minded people who are :-
a) Capable of giving notice when they require some time.
b) Don't squeek like a stuck pig about "rules and regulations"
c) Work hard because they know that in the end if the business does well then they win too.
Looking for a job are you? we have a vacancy for a tea-boy.0 -
We have people where i work who call themselves enginneers, but really all they do is sit in their office petending to be clever.
What kind of factory do you work?
What machines do you use?
Or what assembly processess do you have in place?
You have a lot to learn if you run a factory, do you have any women working for you?
If you do would you sack them if they was pregnant?
I believe like the previous poster you dont run your own company, and i would be very surprised if it was a factory with your attitude towards people.
I would let you manage anything as it seems you cant manage yourself and you seemed to have lost the plot.
Anyway has you are hovering around about the questions and not many people believe what your saying, asnwer me this one question, you mention processess, everyone you employ carries out a process, as an employer every process carried out on your premises should also have something accompanying each process do you know what it is?
As an employer you should know this, but i am starting to question what you are saying, and i think there is alot of other people doing the same.

Ahh yes, factories, ones that normally are the first to go 'POP' in an economic downturn...
You really like the sound of your own voice don't you.. I would not work for you as you sound like the kinda person that wouldn't be able to get people to work to 100% of their ability as they have no motivation to do so because of your attitude. You treat your employees fairly in order to earn respect and hard work... its not the dickens age you know. :rolleyes:0 -

OK, you first.
We don't walk around with adjustable spanners and hammers, we are consulting engineers who design and build process control systems.
We work all over the world, not just Croydon. I don't mind when UK factories go broke because we get a lot of work moving the operations overseas.
You are correct that you wouldn't work for me. You have no idea how we run a project and work as a team.
I'd like to know how you conclude that I don't treat people fairly because I don't expect people to pull a sickie after they have been refused time off?0 -

confused
I really don't understand what you are waffling about. I'm not sure you know what a process engineer is.
I'm not sure whether you are cr4pping on about risk assessments or method statements but it really doesn't matter.
Pretty much without exception we are all qualified engineers (for what it is worth I am MIMechE).
To get back to the plot:-
I think it stinks to start pulling sickies and lying because you have been told it isn't possible to take time off due to lack of notice. I think that is pretty straightforward to understand, perhaps you think that you should lie and cheat to get what you want, but I don't.0 -
Please stop now children. This is an open forum, anyone can post and I just did !0
