Has anyone here taken an interview for the AO post? If so, what questions were you asked?, How long was interview? Any advice/tips?
Please someone help!!!!!!! I really could do with this job
Have you had paperwork relating to DWP competencies? These are usually the basis of the interview. For example, if one of the competencies was about managing a change, they might ask you what you did personally to endure a change was managed successfully. The examples can be from a work experience or any other experience.
The golden rule is explaining what YOU did, how YOU did it and what the outcome was. Some interview panels might go further and ask if you would do anything different with the benefit of hindsight.
Try to think of an example to use for each of the 4 competencies.
Good luck0 -

Yes, they usually rate you for all 4 competencies so prepare at least one strong example for each. You are likely to be asked a few questions on each - they could ask something like how you managed a change or were effective at communicating. They are likely to ask further questions as a result of your answers so try to make your reply as comprehensive as possible.
They score you against the competencies so there aren't usually other questions.0 -
I'm just being nosey here, is this the DWP in the North East which is recruiting? I currently work on the HMRC site in Newcastle but not for HMRC. We look after the 4 government buildings across Newcastle and Washington, but at the moment in this job I get next to nothing money wise so am looking to go elsewhere. Anyone got an idea of the pay scale for the Benefits Advisor post? (just realised I could just go on the jobcentre website lol - off i go)"a workman, even of the lowest and poorest order, if he is frugal and industrious, may enjoy a greater share of the necessaries and conveniences of life than it is possible for any savage to acquire."0

Sorry I can't remember what the ratio questions were like.
I knew I had failed it which was a shame cos I got 14 in the literacy test.

I got an interview with the CSA - they interviewed over 250 people for the 50 jobs available. I finally heard yesterday (almost 2 weeks later) that I passed the interview but have been put on a waiting list which will stand for 12 months - if no jobs in that time then I would need to reapply and go through the whole procedure again
Good luck to anyone who gets an interview and a job at the end of it!
I'm busy applying elsewhere.“I tell you, we are here on Earth to fart around, and don't let anybody tell you different.”

I did a DWP test today.
I have learning difficulties, they made the following mistakes:
They said if you have any 'special requirements' to phone the number below. There was no number below.
So I phoned the number on the top of the page and told them my requirements, I need extra time and a seperate room because I have difficulty filtering noise and holding a pencil.
I got there on the day, my name was spelt wrong on the list, even though I read it to them phonetically over the phone.
I didn't get a seperate room either, they forgot to mention that.
I am not impressed, as I feel they are not putting the effort to listen to me and am worried things will screw up more.
Hope I passed. The lady was very nice at the centre.0 -
