    Nice find! :)

Our Guru has begun a thread: Great Halloween Costume Hunt

I replied and realised I was in the wrong place ... so come on ... let's use our own thread to see how cheaply we can do it the Old Fashioned Way! ;)

Ghost costumes: Old sheets/curtains/tablecloths ... from charity shop (or airing cupboard) = 50p (ish)

Iced Hand (for punch bowl/drinks jug): An old rubber glove, filled with water, frozen. When ready, peel off the glove, add to punch bowl for an eerie hand floating on the water :D

Black bin bags for capes, or cut out bat shapes from them and hang up from the ceiling.

  • Macaroni cheese with black food colouring - it looks really weird

Pumpkins were surprisingly cheap last year on our local market and carving it kept my friends kids entertained. Finding recipes was harder, although the pumpkin, sausagemeat & mead stew was lovely.
Still wish I could buy a TARDIS instead of a house!
