Check the internet for a Brain Shaped Jelly Mould. I got one last year and you make a jelly in it using red jelly and carnation cream, looks like a real brain, gross, but the kids love it.
We also made a green jelly and set it with a big plastic spider in the middle.
And before you ask, yes, we are a bit weird, we even have our own coffin which we serve the food in at our halloween party !!!!0 -
Got one!! I make it grey!! I agree the kids love it!0

A friend made "fingers" for a Halloween party last year. She got pieces of bread and cut the crusts off then flattened them with a rolling pin. Spread them with filling - cream cheese, or I guess you could use jam for blood, then roll them up to make the finger shape. She finished them off with an almond stuck on the top for a fingernail and grooves made with a knife for knuckles. They looked revolting but the kids loved them!
Nigella Lawson's book Feast also has some Halloween food ideas.0 -
There's a thread for a Halloween Cake in the Cooking section of the MEGA Index sticky too, listed under "cakes"Hi, I'm a Board Guide on the Old Style and the Consumer Rights boards which means I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly and can move and merge posts there. How about some chocolate covered scorpions etc. You can buy them from Selfridges. I was at a party once where the host made a red jelly and had put edible sweets that were brains/worms/teeth/eys etc it looked really good and was very tasty too!0

Bugs Blood:
Mix 1 litre of cranberry juice into a jug with 250ml of orange juice. Top with lemonade or sparkling water.
Spooky Eyeballs:
Cut five boiled eggs in half. Remove yolk and put into a seperate bowl with 110g of cream cheese. Mash yolk & cream cheese together. Fill the eggs with the mixture until it bulges (spl?). Put an olive on top of each "eye", and with a cocktail stick dipped in red food dye, draw bloodshot veins down the yolk & cream cheese mixture!
Bat wings:
Mix 2 teaspoons of soy & worcestershire sauce, 4 tablespoons of tomato ketchup and 2 tablespoons of honey. Pour over chicken wings and roast in the oven for about 20-30 minutes until cooked.0 -
Hi hope your ready for this, got loads of ideas
SCARY ICE CUBES
Fill up ice cube trays with green, red or orange coloured juice. Would look best in clear drinks. Cranberry juice for red, kiwi juice for green, orange juice for orange
HOW TO MAKE EYEBALLS
1 tin of lychees
1 jar of maraschino cherries
choc chips (white or dark choc)
Place cherries into lychees then use the choc chips as pupils.
GOODIE BAGS
Make up halloween goodie bags. Use a clear bag, line with red tissue paper, fill with things like choc mice, lips and teeth, and anything else that is scary from the pic and mix in the supermarket. Tie around the top with ribbon and a scary spider.
GAME
Use cold spaghetti, peeled grapes, above eyeballs or anything else yukky you can think of. Place into bowls (you could cover them and get people to guess what is in the bowls) or you could ask people to taste them blind-folded and give the winner a prize.
MARSHMALLOW SPIDERS
170g choc chips
5g butter
24 large marshmallows
mini m&m`s for the eyes
chocolate matchsticks for the legs
Melt choc chips and butter. Pour choc into sealable plastic bag.
Line a cookie sheet with wax paper. Stick choc matchsticks into each side of marshmallows for legs and arrange on greaseproosf paper. Cut one corner off the bag of melted choc. Drizzle over the marshmallow spiders. Attach m&m`s to each marshmallow for eyes. Chill until the chocolate hardens.
Good thing with this recipes is the kids can help. Could put this into the goodie bag.
Got all these ideas from American sites really good as they go all out at this scary time of the year. Hope these ideas help you to have a great party.
This is a fab site for ideas......www foodnetwork.com0 -
Here's a few more ideas:
MONSTER PIZZAS
Decorate mini pizzas with monster faces. Use olives or a slices pf pepperami for eyes, slices of mushrooms, peppers or pineapple for the nose, sweetcorn for teeth.
TARANTULA TREATS
You will need:
Chocolate chip cookies
200g chocolate
Strawberry laces cut into short lengths
Tube of magic mushroom cake decorations OR white choc drops OR Jelly Tots OR Dolly Mixtures
Melt the chocolate in a heatproof bowl over some gently simmering water.
Dip the cookie in the chocolate and then place on baking tray.
Lay four laces across the cookie like spider legs and stick two mushrooms/sweets as eyes and then leave to set.
BANANA BONES
Cut bananas into slices about 5mm thick. Push a banana slice onto each end of a white chocolate finger.
LIZARD ICE BOWL
This makes a fun serving bowl for ice cream or any other cold dessert. Shpuld be made at least 24 hours in advance.
You will need 2 freezer proof glass mixing bowls of different sizes. The smaller one should fit inside the bigger one leaving at least an inch gap.
Fill the larger bowl with cold water to a deoth of about 4cm. Sprinkle in some plastic lizards from a joke shop.
Put in freezer until frozen.
Remove from the freezer and place the smaller bowl on top of the frozen layer and weigh it down. Pour in more water between the two bowls and add more lizards.
Return to the freezer.
Once fully frozen, you can remove the inner bowl by wiping the inside with a cloth which has been run under hot water and then wrung out.
Twist gently and the inner bowl will loosen.
To remove the outer bowl dip in warm water and twist to remove.
Return ice bowl to freezer until needed.

These recipes came from a book I purchased last year.
I've got loads more ideas about drinks as well if you want them.
