We don't do much either,no dressing up and no trick or treating . But my kids love carving a pumpkin and making toffee/chocolate apples(and eating them, of course):smileyhea:heart: Mrs Lea Nov 5th '11

Ghost lollipops - (dead easy!)
Take a tissue, drape it over a lollipop, wrap a rubber band around the stick (just under the sweetie pop). The sweetie part has now become the "Head" of the ghost. Use a light hand and a pen and colour two eyes.
(my boys made a load of these and stuck them into a pumpkin so Treaters could take them one by one). Very effective too!
Tip: Pre poke holes into the pumpkin first!!! (I used a corkscrew)~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Old rubber gloves can be filled with sand and then younger kids can stick on odds and bobs to make spooky table decorations.
(Mine decorated theirs with black wool; glitter and black marker)~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Oh I forgot - toffee strawberries. Don't make them much in the year because of my diet, but they are yummy & not a waste thislate in the year when the strawberries in the shops have less taste.
Also, when i used to go trick or treating instead of just "trick or treat" we came up with a 2-line rhyme - used to get us more treats for being original.Still wish I could buy a TARDIS instead of a house!0 -

Trick or trick, smell my feet or give me something nice to eat~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

DD (aged11) has just been invited to a Halloween party.
As she is tall for her age I would probably have to buy and adult outfit for her and do not fancy paying £15!
Before I could stop myself I opened my big mouth and said "I will sew you an outfit!"
Have found a dress with black velvet top and long sleeves - as the skirt is flowery - I got a black circular skirt that will fit over the dress.(£1.50)
Now all I have to do is find templates for stars ,moon, cobwebs etc and sew them on :eek: using silver thread or ribbon."This site is addictive!"

I went to a Halloween Party years ago dressed as a witch. I borrowed my brothers army boots (because they were HUGE), dyed an old dress black, painted my face green and then made a big hat from some card and black paper. One of the best parties EVER
