You can buy Food Flasks that have a wider mouth and some have a plastic liner to stop you damaging it with a spoon, but they do not seem to keep the so well.
I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.

Would go with the stanley food flask. Have found that the cheaper supermarket flasks cool too quickly.

if you are normally using canned soup do you have a heating up facility at work and could put soup in a sealed comtainer like a look and lock one and heat it up in there ? just a thought
• Hey all

I'm wanting to buy a thermos flask so I can start taking soup to work in the winter (boo!) months. I've never had one before so can anyone recommend a good one for me. Doesn't need to be massive, just to hold enough for one.

Cheers

• Hi Flutterby

I would be interested in this myself - we have a microwave in work but sometimes i would prefer not to use work fascilities as people don't seem to care what state they're in!

These threads may give you some food for thought - pardon the pun :p

What to look for in a food flask

Lunches to go in a food flask

I'll pop this over to I wanna later on when you get some more input - and keep an eye on what responses you get! I have no idea where to start and from recent reading i remember people saying the food doesn't stay piping hot so maybe I am better using the filthy microwave :o

Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere(please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. If you have any questions about this policy please email abuse@moneysavingexpert.com.

thanks

• I had one of those really wide ones once. There was just one problem with it and was when you came to open it. Because it has hot food in it, it would form a really tight seal which was great for keeping the food hot. But, I found, because I had small hands, I couldn't twist the top off, and neither could my most of my male collegues.
• Thanks zippy! we have a dodgy looking work microwave too, but I'm rarely office based so a thermos is better option for me.

Hi, I have four old flasks that I may declutter as unsure that they do not retain their heat efficiently (e.g. the first flask's hot water contents went semi-warm in under an hour). At what point, if ever, would you throw away a flask?

Thanks.
