Unbreakable Stanley flasks look ideal. I bought one in a charity shop the other day but haven't actually tried it out yet as we haven't been anywhere, but there was a thread about them on here recently (put "stanley flask" in the search facility) and they seem to be popular. They have a spoon in the lid (it slides out for eating, obviously!).
Aldi (or it might have been Lidl, sorry can't remember) had a very similar thing in their leaflet last week, only £3.50.I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe

I can't recommend anything particularly. Just a tip from Slimming World when I used to go, that if you choose a wide neck flask you could actually take pasta.
Nb. noodles and a normal flask doesn't work!:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0 -
i have a Thermos stainless steel flask with a capacity of 1litre.
there are other models with different capacities but it's tremendous flask.
unbreakable and can keep coffee hot for 8 hours easily - it's still warm after 24hrs.
i got it on ebay for about £5 + £3 P+P.
a great buy.

I dont know the make of my hubbys but he got it from the local Yeomans store and iv seen then at army surplus shops too.About £5.00
He takes alsorts in it stew, soup even sausage and mash.
Most outdoor shops and army supplies stores should have good quailty ones.Proud to be DEBT FREE AT LAST0 -
I would go with Thermos for sure. I have a wide necked 0.8L Thermos like this and it is absolutely fabulous. No leaks, impossible to damage (I am a bit cack-handed) and keeps things hot for hours.
I also bought OH a Stanley bolt to take fishing, it ended up in the bin after a month of use because it just wasn't keeping anything hot but that could just be a one off. Nice design though, they also seem to do quite snazzy pink and blue ones0 -
I would go for a wide necked Stanley, which is different in that it can be filled with food and put in the microwave to heat and then sealed.I bought one last weekend from Wiklkos for I think 3.99. It is ideal for soup and leftovers/single portions- I haven't used it yet but it looks fab and has a carrying handle and a spoon. I aslo have the wide necked stnadard stanley thermos which is good but cannot go in the microwave. Highly recommend it. (both my stanleys are blue)0

Thanks for those comments that's great. I did figure that Thermos would most likely be mentioned, never heard of Stanley but they seem popular. Theres so many available so its good to get some recommendations. Thanks for the tip about the wide neck thats worth considering too. I have an Aldi near by so will look there too. never even consider army/camping stores.Boots Card - £17.53, Nectar Points - £15.06 - *Saving for Chrimbo*2015 Savings Fund - £2575.000

I got two of the Aldi ones - I may be wrong but I'm pretty certain they are Stanley. They're plastic and you put the food in the flask then microwave the whole thing and when you've finished you can bung it in the dishwasher, almost sounds too good to be true for £3.99! I want to take soup to work when it is cold, I don't make soup nearly often enough these days.0

It is the Stanley ones - I bought dh one last year and it's fab! You put it in the microwave (lid off) for about a minute, then it keeps food hot for ages. The fact you can just stick in the microwave is really useful, plus it has a spoon built into the lid! I got mnie from Ebay but they are a bit cheaper from Aldi at the mo, mine was about £5 inc p&p.
You can even fit in halves of jacket potato, makes a nice change from sandwiches!
