Assuming we are all going to be let down by Marshall ward, could people post any other bargain Mattress offers they know of, as there are clearly dozens of us who are in desperate need of a new Mattress or two !! ;)
I have just had a look at Tesco direct ( who have been known to have some great clearance prices on household stuff), but cannot see any reductions on mattresses.
    Thanks

Sorry, but it isn't possible to do it the way you suggest.

As I asked, where did you get your info from?

Try any online retailer...such as play.com, tesco, HMV, etc...they all request the funds are put on hold until despatch. If they don't despatch, the funds taken off hold. If they despatch, they request the funds to be transferred over to them.
In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?
It's time to make that change.

Some companies may put the money into a holding account, but it is still in their account not the card holders.

I know that many people are very wary about buying items like beds and mattresses from ebay. However if you follow a few guidelines then you can save up to 75% on the shop prices:

    1) most important of all make sure that the seller gives a 100% satisfaction guarantee.

    2) check previous feedback for the seller, and even contact previous customers to ask them about the seller. Also read all their negative or neutral feedback.

    3) make sure they have recent feedback (unused accounts with good feedback are sometimes hacked).

    4) make sure most of their feedback is for selling, and that it is for similar items to those you want to purchase

    5) use a company who display their phone number, so that you can talk to someone about your requirements (they want you to make the right choice because it will cost them if you return it).

    6) check the sellers return policy. Many sellers charge for postage on returns.....can work out very expensive if you have unpacked a vacuum packed mattress, and you don't like it.

    7) try to use a seller who delivers using their own transport. Couriers often damage or misplace goods (believe me I know from experience).

    8) have a good look at the mattress. If the top of it looks flat then it is probably a budget mattress that you can feel the springs through (unless it is a memory foam mattress).

Obviously you can't try before you buy, but for the saving it is worth the risk if you follow the guidelines above.

Just nipped over to HUKD and this has just been posted 3.58pm so it's not looking good for our mattresses. Wishful thinking though.

    Dear XXXX

Thank you for your recent order for the Trizone Plus Mattress~ WW366.

Sorry - we have made a mistake.

We try to make sure all our website prices are correct. Unfortunately however,
mistakes do sometimes occur. At the time your order was placed the price of the
item was incorrectly listed at £33.80. And the correct price is £169.00.

Please let us know if you would still like the item.

We can order the item for you at the correct price or we can cancel it. Please
e-mail us to tell us which you would prefer.

Once again we are sorry for any disappointment this causes. Mistakes like this
are most unusual and at Marshall Ward we want you to be completely happy with
    our service.

We look forward to hearing from you.

Oh well, thought it looked too good to be true.

Did anyone actually have one delivered?

Did you go look at online retailers such as HMV? Even Tesco.com does it. I'm not talking about small time retailers here, Tim. It does not go into a holding account. The retailer gets authorisation that the money is available and a hold is put on the funds pending release to the retailer upon despatch of the goods.

I get my info from both professional and private experience.
