When I seen this thread that morrisons recipe jumped into my head. But looks like i was beaten to the punch. Anyway if anyone tries the recipe come back and tell us if it gets the thumbs up. Looks amazing

Barneys mom i'm sure you could substitute another type of cheese that you like. It would definately work with mozzerella, perhaps stilton? a mature cheddar?

Thanks Patrick20! I've a glut of Coliers Welsh cheddar I could use some there :cool:

We slice them up then pan fry some bacon bits (or pancetta). Add sprouts, stir fry for a few minutes then splosh of white wine.

It's really tasty. You can make it a bit creamy by adding cream but we don't normally.

    I love sprouts
  • How could I forget sprouts cooked with bacon, cream and garlic? Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
  • I just eat it as I would cabbage, caulflower or brocolli, as a green veg to accompany whatever else I'm eating.

Yeah bacon good if you're not veggie, sprouts are little cabbages aren't they and cabbage is really nice with bacon. Mmm, yum, not had that for years my Gran used to make it when I was a kid.
But of course there's always sprout curry (bleurrghhh).

  • Cabbage + pork = classic combination, so I imagine you could combine sprouts with most pork products.

Hmm... bubble and squeak with sausages?

Mmmm sprouts. My mum makes a dish with them sliced up and fried with chestnuts, pancetta and onion. That is amazing. Otherwise I stumbled upon this receipe yesterday. I've never thought to roast them before and I don't know anyone who can refuse honey and balsamic!

    Happy cooking :-)

Apparently you can make a cake something like carrot cake using sprouts - google brussel sprout cake. Can't vouch for the taste though but if it's anything like courgette cake it's really nice.

I'd be sceptical about this myself ;) Courgettes work (like carrots and beetroot) as they have lots of moisture in them, and are fairly bland so absorb the flavours in the cake, and keep it moist. Sprouts have neither property  I'm happy for someone to make a sprout cake and prove me wrong :D

As you have several suggestions, OP, I'll add this to the existign thread to give you more.
