    Good morning all :)

This is clearly a thread that can be merged with the one pointed to earlier by Jay-Jay, thank you Jay-Jay :) and so I'll do that shortly.

If you haven't already been to read the link you'll need to read this thread from the beginning again to catch up :)

I prefer them oven baked but we have a combi microwave which can do a jacket potato in around 12 mins, crispy skins and all:T It uses a combination of grill and microwave.

I've heard that if you wrap the potato in foil it cooks quicker in the oven, I havn't tried it yet though :D

For the ultimate baked tattie you need to wrap it in foil then shove it in the embers of a hot open fire. The smell, taste and texture are unbeatable - just delicious with butter mmmmmmmmmm!

oh yes, the open fire! When I was little we used to have a coal fire and put them in the ash pan all morning - delish! Its only now I realise what an OS upbringing I had!
