Well I always cook mine in the microwave for about 5mins and then put in the oven to crisp up the skin for around an hour. I like the skins best. You have to !!!!! the skins with a fork. if you want just to cook them in the oven make sure you put them in the oven alot earlier.2025 Decluttering 9127⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I usually start them off in the microwave and finish of in the oven, tastes just as good and get the skins lovely and crisp. Just cook in the microwave til almost done and bung in the oven for half an hour, I do them at 180c(fan oven).0

I spike them all over then rub oil & salt all over them. Oven bake for about 1 hour. They taste delicious.
Haven't got a microwave. so that's not an option.

Hi Angelraesunshine,
There's an older thread with lots of tips for cooking perfect baked potatoes so I've added your thread to it to keep all the suggestions together.

I just stick mine in at 200 for one and a half hours and they go lovely and crispy - I do always buy the 'bakers' tho as any other just doesn't get the thick crunchy skin that I like
If I am pushed for time I put a skewer through them0 -
sorry i have tried a search and ended up frustrated i have decided last min to do jacket potatoes rather than potato wedges for dinner but i was never great at jackets in my gas oven and now have no idea how to cook then in my new electric oven.

1 hour at 190c or untill the skin is crisp. If you put a metal skewer through it will speed it up.
EDIT: Mine is fan assisted electric oven.0
