    I would microwave them for a few minutes first then put them in the (fan) oven at about 200 degrees roughly, till they look done!

    Gas/ Electric heat is heat

    That is true. A few minutes in microwave will help them along. Gets the core temperature up.

    If I'm not too late! :D

    I do mine in microwave for a few mins until cooked in the middle. Then put into hot fan assisted oven at about 200 for as long as they take to get to your desired crispiness/browness.

  • Thanks everyone ok in the microwave now will put them in the fan oven then was gonna use my other one :)

    thats the thing with now having 2 ovens that are both electric as only had gas before and now i don't know which one to use or how to use lol

    My oven is a fan oven and if it's on for something else then I cook them with the fan on at a high (220 degrees) temp for about an hour. If the oven isn't on then I cook them in the microwave first and then give them a quick 15 minutes blast in the oven to crisp them up.

    There's an older thread on cooking jacket potatoes in the oven so I'll add this thread to it to keep all the replies together.
