    Hello!:D

Still being good even if it's boring - I so need some chocolate and have been good all week but if I don't get some choc soon I'm going to go mad, perhaps a hot choc drink will be enough of a fix;) .

    Breakfast - porridge and sultanas
    Lunch - tuna nicoise salad
Dinner -1/2 a Chicken tandori and pilau rice takeaway (oh ate the other half as I was too full! )
Our days are happier when we give people a bit of our heart rather than a piece of our mind.

Morninng all and a big WOO HOO!!!! to all the losers. Mrs M - your weightloss is totally astounding. What an inspiration!

Know what you mean about the chocolate catznine. Watched OH search the choccy aisle in the supermarket yesterday feeling pangs of envy as he selected a family size bag of smarties. I picked out a small Thomas the Tank Engine chocolate lolly for myself as a little treat. :D he also picked up a nice loaf of bread  so i have to try and avoid making myself 15 slices of toast this morning!

Think I will be brave and weigh myself tomorrow! It is difficult at the mo as I am up every day at 4.30 so get hungry for brekkie earlier than normal. Then need another breakfast about 9ish. I try to just have a probiotic yoghurt drink and apple first thing, then at 9 I have taken to having a massive salad -iceberg lettuce and baby spinach, topped with sweetcorn, roast veg and 2 poached eggs. I do have salad dressing and a bit of mayonnaise so it's not terribly low in cals but it's all good stuff still.

Last night made a big pasta in mushroom and leek cheesy sauce and put the leftovers in the fridge instead of in my tum. :T Even OH seems to be reducing portion sizes a tad. Wonders will never cease!

    Morning everyone,

Well done Floyd on that loss yesterday. :T :T :D

Pleased to say that I ate pretty much to my plan yesterday with the one exception that I ate a chocolate spread sandwich. I got excited during Dr Who and forgot myself. :o Still, little bit of what you fancy and all that. Not the end of the world. :p

Taplady - No painting got done unfortunately. He wasn't up to it so we just decided to forget for now. It'll get done soon even if DH and I have to grab the brushes.
He decided to watch DS2 sawing logs in the back garden and that seemed to please him much more.

    Food today:
Boiled egg and fingers (eaten and enjoyed already ;) )
Bowl of fruit and fibre (have urges again.:p )
Toad in the Hole, roasties, steamed cabbage, carrots, stuffing and gravy.

Snacks - if I have any it will be prunes and grapefruit.

Just been to the library with DH yesterday afternoon and we have borrowed half the cookery books.. some fantastic ones there, too.... so I have my inspiration to keep cooking real meals and get myself out of these dreaded '18stone somethings' that I can't seem to get past.
I'm longing to be a '17st something' but have to get the extra push. I've been in the '18s' for about 7 weeks I think which is the longest its taken me to go through a stone drop. And I thought that getting below 20st was tough. Mind, did take me about 18 years to do that one so I best stop my moaning. :p I'm just looking forward to regarding '16st something' as my next target. It will come; I've just got to learn patience. :o

Have a lovely Sunday everyone. ;)

    Morning Guys,

I know what you meen Cheerfulness. I am really becoming impatient to be 16 something. I wantedf to be there by this Friday but that would meen loosing 5lb so that aint gonna happen :o Hopefully it will be the week after then.

I'm in a really bad mood and finding it very hard to lift my spirits. I want to binge quite a lot of the time, well, all of the time TBH. I haven't done it but I honestly feel if I cant shift this feeling then it will be inevitable. Kept re reading the thread yesterday to stop me doing anything, and it did help.

I was up first this morning and instantly in a bad mood. The house was a TIP  After I had gone to bed Mr Frog and the Tadpoles had a party by the looks of things  There were 7 cups and glasses in the front room, cushions ALL over the floor, they'd had toast and left the butter and bread out, dirty washing up everywhere and pens, pencils and homework all over the kitchen table. I'm SO fed up that I get up before everyone else and then like a slave have to clean up after them.

    Deep breath, pause

and now I've got to go to Sainsburys this morning to do the weekly shop which I HATE  Especially as I'm in a bad mood I will want to buy binge food and I'll have to walk past it all and not get any  I just went and asked Mr Frog if he would come with me and he said " No WAY"! Great

Anyway, rant over, shall just have to go and get on with it. I know Mr Frog usually does a 70/80 hr week and works hard, but sometimes I do feel like a slave.

Sorry, more ranting, they all sit there in the evening and eat sweets, cake, crisps et.c and have no consideration for just how damm hard this is. If I get upset, I'm just "in a mood" again  Last night I actually thought it wasn't worth it. I'd rather be fat and be able to join in and enjoy my self then be a missery and keep going to bed early in tears. Is it all worth it?

    Todays food
    B Porridge
    L Jacket, beans, veg
    T Marmite on toast

Have a good day all, and if you could be bothered thanks for reading ;)

Oh Frogga me old china, you & me both!

My offspring are all grown, but that means the size of their mess has grown too:p Where once I could manage with one solitary linen basket for dirty laundry, I now have FIVE & they still think the floor is the place to leave clothes:mad: And the poor wm tinks it's running a marathon every day, cuz there's only so many pairs of jeans or hoodies you can fit into one load isn't there:o

Did anyone see the Tonight programmes this last week, where they were experimenting with the idea of using a cash incentive to encourage folk to loose weight? Summink from the States again of course, but how DARE they assume financial gain will work any better on the obese than it has on any other obsessed group.....ooops! I'll say no more... I obviously had more than one soap-box lying around:D

Aw Peeps....hope today is a Good Day for you all.

    Hi all!

Off out again today for a posh pub lunch with friends in Cheshire but hopefully I can stick to plan and they also have a menu online so I can choose ahead.

    B: Nothing, had a lie in :)
L: Crayfish, melon and walnut salad or lemon and black pepper salmon with salad and minto choc chip ice cream
D: A tuna sandwich if I get hungry but otherwise nothing

    Well done to everyone

Enjoy the rest of the weekend

    Hi All,

Didn't get chance to post yesterday as I was exhausted for some reason so spent the afternoon sitting in bed reading. It seems to have done the trick as I feel fine today.

I don't seem to have much news anyway. The sun is out today and it is really warm and sunny on our patio. Ironically, I had planned DS's favourite meal tonight which is stew and dumplings followed by syrup sponge and custard. I've already promised it to him so can't change the menu now.

B: Muesli with fruit and fibre, raisins and skimmed milk. Freshly squeezed orange juice - I have a bowl full of oranges that aren't getting eaten so thought I'd use them for breakfast juice.
L: HM tortilla wrap with salad and HM coleslaw and taramaslata that I found reduced to 27p for the pot. I shall only use an eighth of it at a time so less than 4p per helping.
D: Stew and dumplings. I shan't have the syrup sponge but will probably have a frozen raspberry yoghurt instead.

Forgive Me Frogga for I have Sinned:embarasse

Even tho I was very good & spent BoDiddly yesterday, I came home & scavanged anything edible that was not nailed down or needing lengthy cooking:mad: Hopefully it's out of my system now, for at least a couple of months.

When I have a big decision to make, I have two lists--one Pro doing & the other Anti--then as I think of different bits I write then on whichever side it belongs......Take your current quandry RS; if it were me my lists would be like this......

    PRO
lose weight; better fitting clothes; cheaper clothing costs; cheaper food costs; improved associated health issues; improved self-worth

    ANTI
cost of op; anaesthetic; possible health repercussions; never eating a clotted cream tea again!

Well...you get the idea.....& then I look at them when I'm in an objective frame of mind. When it boils down to it
you really are the only one who knows what is right for you. HTH x

Just got back onto computer and was reading through all the threads and when I saw this from you Bigmumma I had to reply because it was so helpful. I have never thought of doing that before and when you look at it like that it brings it into a better perspective for me. All the pro list CAN be achieved with adherance to a healthy eating programme, but my problem is that I am not having any success doing that right now. The anti list is quite daunting. I am terrified of the actual operation because I have this heart problem (paroxysmal Atrial Fibrillation) and the risk of the anaesthetic and the cost - it will cost me in the region of £8495 for the operation and first year follow ups and then about £170 a quarter for ever after that to maintain the band and have check ups as the NHS won't pay at all. Plus, if (and in 10% of cases this is the case) I need follow up surgery because the band slips or erodes at all over time, then I will have to pay a minimum of £5000 for any surgery - even if I get problems in the first year as there is no warranty on surgery. Also if I get problems which make surgery necessary then the NHS won't pay then either so it is a daunting decision.

I went to see the doctor who does the bands yesterday and he was prepared to do a band for me, but he also runs a 12 week programme for £300 which is an intensive weight loss programme, but that isn't good for me because any kind of crash diet can affect your blood chemistry which may affect my heart so that's not an option.

Soooooo I think it is back to the OS diet again! I have decided that I am going to try really hard, just like Frogga is doing and not even think about gastric bands for the next month and then see where I am. IF and its a big if at the moment, I have lost weight then I will do the same again - give myself another month and so on and so on. I will try and keep my portions small and avoid ALL of my known trigger foods like crusty bread, cake, chocolate, chips etc. I think, unlike alot of you, I don't have the brain mechanisms to cope with the "just a bit and your craving will be satisfied" idea. It works for most people I know, but I think I am like an alcoholic - one's too many and a hundred's not enough IYKWIM.

So, thanks bigmumma - you have helped me get my head round this! And thank you to all the rest of you for being really nice supportive cyberfriends and helping me out with your posts, pms and e-mails. It means an awful lot to me because I don't have any family (other than my 2 DD's and I try not to involve them in my eating problems) who I can get advice from and I don't have a big social circle because I almost never go out because I am so embarassed about my size. I just read this back and I sound like a real self-pitying cow!

Right - back to reading through everyones news and well done to all losers and STSers this week

BTW toni - I put on 8lbs this week (due to massive emotional eating binges on Wednesday and Thursday) but hopefully that will change next Friday on weigh day.

Hope you are all having a good Sunday. DD1 is being a right pain again - she borrowed my phone (well, she put her sim in my phone....) which is a new Nokia N95 which I got on my upgrade and which is worth about £250 and left it in a taxi last night and of course the taxi firm say it hasn't been found:mad: That, on top of her borrowing DD2's new £75 tennis racket on Friday and leaving it on the court at the tennis club where it disappeared has really put her in my bad books!

Ex OH is taking DD2 out to Chill Factor e in Manchester later so she is mega excited!

    Food today -
    B - banana smoothie (hm)
    L - prawn salad
D - braised steak and veg (sort of like scouse but without potatoes) with hm braised red cabbage (my very favourite veg)

Frogga - hope the Sainsburys shop goes okay - I have to go today too and am dreading it......
