Hi All
A late posting for me as I seem to have been quite busy today. We went shopping yesterday and I bought a stick blender (to replace old cracked jug blender) and a few other bits and pieces for the kitchen. I needed to sort out some space for them to go so ended up emptying and cleaning cupboards and getting rid of unused items - or rather putting in a bag for a charity shop or car boot sale.
We went out for a lovely carvery meal last night as OH said he'd treat me so I didn't have to cook. It was really good value at £3.75 each so only a tenner for the whole meal including drinks. I was very good and had sliced turkey breast, peas, carrots, sweetcorn and cauliflower - no potatoes. Unfortunately, I then had a home made scone dripping with butter when I got back!!
No long walks again today but did walk into the village twice so about half an hour's brisk walking.
I experimented with a new sauce today to go with the salmon. The HM yoghurt I made the other day that got switched off by mistake for 4 hours is quite runny, despite straining it overnight. So I used some of it with garlic gently sauteed in a bit of butter, lemon juice and the juices from cooking the salmon to make a sauce to go with the fish. Tasted quite nice for a change.
B: Fruit and fibre mixed with muesli, raisins and skimmed milk. Cranberry and raspberry juice.
L: HM carrot soup. Raspberries with HM yoghurt.Salmon fillet with lemon garlic sauce, cauliflower, green beans, new potatoes. Stewed rhubarb with more of the runny yoghurt stirred in.

Hello everyone - well done Taplady on your loss!
Well after my rather large Subway breakfast sub I didn't fare much better as the day went on, but decided that I was going to stop eating at 7.30 which I did, and I am going to try my hardest to be "good" from now on. After seeing the band surgeon today, I had a long think about it - the costs are high and I would have to borrow the money to pay for it either from the bank or on my credit card - so I am going to see what I can achieve by myself over the next 4 weeks. I am going to see a Doctor on Saturday who runs a 12 week programme of counselling and advice for people who comfort eat or binge eat and that might help too.
I am also going to rethink how I shop. At the moment I seem to spend some part of every other day in the supermarket buying stuff I don't need! I have 2 freezers full of meat, veg, hm ready meals and bread and yet I go in for - say - some milk, and end up filling one of those small trolleys full of stuff!
I do use alot of milk, given that there is only 3 of us but I get through at least 8 2 litre cartons a week - most of that is drunk by DD1 and her bf - I probably use 1 -2 cartons of skimmed, and DD2 doesn't really like milk and doesn't have much at all. I can't fit all 7 in the fridge so get them every other day or so. I also get through bags of ice cubes too - DD1 uses them in all her drinks (she doesn't do hot drinks) and I like iced water - I know its not moneysaving but the bought ice cubes are nicer than hm:o .
Anyway tomorrow I am going to try and focus on what I want to achieve instead of thinking about all the carp going on in my life. DD1 is out at bf's tonight so I've given the house a good going over, with the exception of her room which is, to use her favourite word, Minging. She said this morning that she won't tidy it because it is too dirty - she said that it was my job to clean it so if I won't clean it then she won't tidy it. I am not going to clean it, but I do have to keep the door shut as it is starting to smell all musty. I got all my old books from the top of the wardrobes the other day - they are from when I was a child and gave them to DD2 and she is entranced with them. She is reading my Trixie Belden books at the moment, and says she can't wait to read the others - there are Nancy Drew, Bobbsey Twins, Cherry Aimes, Judy Bolton, Chalet School, Malory Towers, Five Find Outers, Lone Pine Club, Blue Door Theatre and loads of others - those of you who are under 40 probably won't know any of them! I started reading the Nancy Drew ones before and will re-read the others - they're still great after 35 years!
Hope you are all having a nice evening.Jane

Oh the joys of Enid Blyton. Re-reading her as an adult you really notice what an awful racist upper class snob she was, but you don't register this at all when you're a kid. I will deffo have a stock of famous five for DD to discover, and just hope she doesn't pick up any colonial attitude lol.
Couldn't face the weigh-in on tuesday in case I'd put on again, so giving myself till next week to get some nice results. There is a terrible photo of me currently providing some incentive to take it a bit more seriously.
I haven't had chocolate for 3 days now and begun to address portion sizes. Me and OH actually managed to put the leftover curry and rice in tupperware in the fridge to save for lunch today, instead of going back for seconds. This is a major step forward.
The fridge is stocked up with veg and nice fruit, and I've just realised I can't remember the last time we had a ready-meal. It does help the waistline not to have stuff in the fridge that can be made quickly. I actually have to COOK if i want to eat anything and if I need to eat quickly the only choice I have is to have a piece of fruit or a quick salad. I can't have cereal in the house or I would just eat that instead (mmmm crunchy nut cornflakes - slurrrp).
So things are in place, must just try not to fall apart when walking past the sweetie shop.2015 wins: Jan: Leeds Castle tickets; Feb: Kindle Fire, Years supply Ricola March: £50 Sports Direct voucher April: DSLR camera June: £500 Bingo July: £50 co-op voucher0 -
morning peeps
i'm back
nice and tanned too! i've had a read thru all the posts, think i've spotted all the losses etc so will be posting the table and awarding this weeks winners in a minute. sorry if i've missed anyone
not feeling brave enough to WI at the moment, will do it Tuesday as usual. i didn't do too badly i think, we were all inclusive but i didn't snack at all but all the meals come with chips  and they won't give you bottled water included so its either really manky squash or fruit juice so that may have done some damage plus the scrummiest croissants at breakfast.....
so its back to reality today. looks like some of you have had a hard time this week so big hugs. big:T :T to all the losers and :hello: newbies.
food today:
b- cereal or toast
l- cheese and crackers
d- soup
