    Evening all

ooohhh Rockie..please take piccies of OH and his first venture into the world of porridge :rotfl:

Sorry MrsM, OH's first day of his health kick, I offered the porridge but he decided to have Shreddies instead:rolleyes: so no piccies:rotfl: He has trotted off to work wearing a nicotine patch though:T

I had the porridge, topped with a little soya milk and a drizzle of honey - Yum!
I've been up since 6.30 and have cleaned downstairs to within an inch of it's life:D
I'm just having a cuppa before wandering down to the shops for a few bits.
After last weeks 'good' news at the dentist I went to the optician this week and she said my glasses don't need changing :D more money saved :money: so I think I might treat myself...........just a little non food treat I think ;)

Not sure about the rest of todays meals, lunch will be as and when I fancy it and I'm picking OH up later so that we can go to the allotment :D more beans and beets I hope! I've got lots of HM falafel and veggie burger things in the freezer so we'll have something out of there with whatever we pick off the lottie.

    See you later folks:A
  • Morning everyone!

I haven't had any chocolate all week.... another bonus to it being hot!!:T

    Today's menu......

    b - yoghurt and banana
L - sardine and tomato rolls
    D- prawns, salad, new spuddies

    grapes and apple for snacks

Oooh, looked like we were in for rain earlier but the sun's fighting it's way through now:T Hope you all have a lovely weekend.

Hey ladies *waving* I'm back!!!!! I had an absolutely fabulous holiday in t'Algarve, I can't begin to explain how wonderful it was. I am ridiculously brown and I am !!!! a hoop that I have only put 2lbs on!!!!!!!:T:T:T:T I ate exactly what I wanted, didn't do a scrap of exercise and was expecting at least a 6lb gain - seriously I ate a ridiculous amount. So back up to 10 stone 8lbs but that is absolutely fine by me.

That's me on the right flashing the tan off, I'm gonna pay for it with a new batch of uber wrinkles but I don't give a monkeys :D. The Toad was sat on the empty chair but by that time he'd had one too many sangrias and had slid under the table.

Haven't had time to read the thread - there were NINE new pages, sheesh you guys can natter ;). So big up to all the losers and STSers because I am sure there were some brilliant results, commiserations to the rest of you. What gossip did I miss?

Well me and the Toad had a brilliant week, honestly we partied hard but I swiped his passport and left him at the airport so it's all systems go again ladies. I've got less than 6 weeks before next holiday - spoilt brat that I am - and I'm aiming to lose that last 8 pounds.

Hope you're all having a fabulous weekend, ciao for now! xxxxx

  • Hi all,

I think I missed the point to start with, I should come daily not just once a week to post? I'll do it properly this week :o

Last week went quite well, stuck to all my plans, except I was lured into Greggs one lunchtime and succumbed to a cheese and onion pasty :( Even managed to be good while I was away with work...

Got my gym induction at 4 today (gym used to be a swear word here) then down to M&Ds for a BBQ. Which you'd think would be a bad thing, but I've got some nice healthy chicken breast in a lemon and garlic and white wine marinade... So no fatty burgers or sausages for PG :D

B: slept in after party in the street went on til 5 am
L: Slice of honeydew melon, 4 water biscuitss, small slivers of cheddar
    D: marinated chicken, tzadziki, salad
S: Snack size apple or pear

Treat: A glass or two of dry white...

Good luck to everybody weighing over the weekend (I need some scales, don't I?) Congratulations to the losers and STSs :j . Big hugs to anyone who gained, its not the end of the world, there's always another week :)

MrsM, is your superseedy bread recipe anywhere on MSE? I'd love to give that a go *drools slightly*

    All the best,

    Afternoon all

Went for a wander around a lake -we finally found it and spent 1hr wandering -it was bloomin hot  ..but it had loads of paths coming off it -so we are going when its cooler and going on a mystery tour..plus there is a little collection of "eateries" so next time we might stop of for an nice cold drink :D .. hubby reckons he wants to hire one of those 2 seater go-cart buggy things  :rotfl: not on your nelly...

Glad you had a great time on your jollies Nix.... you look lovely by the way... all healthy, sunned and relaxed :T

Hi Paulie.... i have just copied the recipe over from where i posted it -here you go :-

The bread i did was a concoction :p Im making a serious effort to eat more wholefoods, seeds, nuts etc and this came out rather well :j I make it by hand and it goes in a 2lb tin .... im planning on making baguettes using similar flours/seeds but the baguette method... fingers crossed -mind they are only for me so i will eat them anyway :rotfl: hubby likes his white hm bread
Depending on how the baguetes come out i will post the recipe-once i have thought of it ;)

    Super seedy bread
    • 300ml warm water
    • 14g fresh yeast
    • 100g wholemeal bread flour
    • 100g sunflower bread flour -it has crushed sunflower seed in but you could add your own to normal bread flour
    • 100g rye bread flour
    • 200g granary flour
    • 2tsp salt
    • then i add poppy, sesame, caraway and linseeds -about 1tbs of each
I made the loaf on friday and it has sat in a plastic bread box all week and every slice is just as moist as the when it was firt made -which surprised me as i didn't add any oil  I think it must be the crushed sunflower seeds, the oil must be helping
If you like a lighter bread I would swap some of the flour for some white bread flour, but this didn't come out really dense like they do sometimes:D
I have another one under way and hubbies white loaf about to go in the oven -this hot weather made it rise sooooo fast

    Food today:-
    1. brekkie - 30g meusli
    2. mid morn - 2 nectarines
    3. lunch - salad with feta and HM potato salad
    4. mid afternoon - fruit
    5. dinner -roast chicken, roast spuddlies n parsnips, -green beans n carrots out of garden
    6. supper-25g seed/nut/fruit mix
    7. snackies if needed -fruit/yogurt
right had better get off and back to the x stitch -hope everyone is having a great weekend -keep up the good work :T
will post later when everyone has put in an appearance :D

Change of plan for tea  I can see why OH gets sooooo cross about his job! He should have started at 11am......they rang last night to say could he start at 10.....then rang again this morning to say 9am:mad: as if that wasn't enough, he should finish at 3.30, so I WAS going to pick him up and go to the lotty.........now, he has to take his client somewhere and drop him off at 4.30, then come back to clients house and drop off his car, then make his way home so won't be home until 5.30 so no lotty for us  today!! We'll have a walk later I think.

I'll do salad, HM falafels and some stuffed vine leaves  I got from M&S and might do a potato salad. (:T for the idea MrsM)
I've made SF lime jelly with berries in for pud  and might have a glass of wine when we get back from our walk.

OH makes our multigrain bread with a blended flour that we get from Cauldwells Mill - it's GORGEOUS!! loads of nice seedy/crunchy bits in it!
  • Hello everyone - welcome back Nixy - you look really tanned and slim on your photo - glad you had a nice time!

:hello: and welcome lainie - you will get loads of encouragement on this thread - a few do WW and a few do SW. I am trying to do SW but I don't go to a class and am just trying to do my own thing.

I am in such a bad mood today! It's too hot, the cast came off my arm again in the night (so I got up and had a shower before shoving it back on again) and I can't get it fixed untill Monday, my arm is hurting and I have loads of washing and ironing to do and it is really slow going doing it because of my arm. I feel too fat (although I haven't eaten much), and I am just really cheesed off! Plus my friend has a friend staying from Oz and because my friend works I have run her around and taken her 10 year old out with DD2 and I to Southport, and had them here to dinner. Anyway, she had a big going away party last night and my friend said that her visitor particularly said that she didn't want me and Molly to go - I woudln't have gone anyway probably but it still hurt, plus the Oz girl gave me a CD of photos and said (not asked) that she wanted me to burn her 3 more copies and now I have to run them round to her:mad: .

Anyway - I NEED to stop feeling sorry for myself! Food today has only been a small slice o SW quiche at lunchtime and a couple of glasses of diluted cranberry juice throughout the day. I'm just not that hungry today.

Rockie - glad relations are back to normal with OH - sorry you missed going to the lottie though.

Mrs M - bread sounds lovely - I can't do any kneading with my arm but could I make it with my Kenwood using the dough hook? If so can you post your normal white loaf recipe please?

Hope you are all having a good day and enjoying the sunshine.

    Recovering...

I think im going to have to come and live with you and put folks in their place when they try and take advantage of you  ... your very own human rotweiler :p I am slowly getting my mum up to speed on the rebelling and not doing everything for everyone else :T at the age of 67 she is mastering the word NO :D

Can't believe your "friend" or her visitor... I would return the disk saying that your PC is playing up... well actually i would have told her not to be such a cheeky c*w... but as you are too nice..the 1st option is better ;)

The bread i make doesn't get much kneading from me either -bet your DD2 would have fu n kneading ;) ..anyhow -yep -wanging it in the kenwood is a good way - i used to do that until i burnt the motor out :o
    My white bread is:-
    1. 300ml warm water
    2. 14g fresh yeast -think its about 1.5tsp of the dried stuff when i used to use it -but i find i get headaches when i eat bread made with dried
    3. a pinch of sugar
    4. 500g white bread flour - the lidl one is great
    5. 3tsp salt - you might want a little less -but i hate bread that has too little salt in -it has no taste
    • then just wang the 1st 3 in a jug ans stir to dissolve
    • throw 4+5 into the kenwood bowl and throw the liquid in and away you go
    • Once mixed leave covered with a carrier until doubled in size
    • then shape and stick in the tin
    • cover with a carrier like a ten and leave until about 2" above the top of the tin - you can speed it up by putting somewhere warm -but if you leave it to rise longer and slower you get a better taste and texture;)
It does a 2lb oiled loaf tin... i bake at gas 7 or now at 230 for about 40mins..but we like crusty;) -when you tip it out and knock on the bottom it should sound hollow when done.
if you want a softer loaf then you can use part milk and water
if you want it to keep a bit better then add a spoon of marge/butter/oil to the mix (oil will make it a bit heavier) -but in this house it doesn't last very long... or i slice n freeze it -so i save on the cals/fat and money :D

Well we have had our chicken dinner -hubby declared that he had a bit to much chicken on his plate... i had only sliced up 1 breast between us :rotfl: so loads more meals on the rest of the chicken me thinks :T
right back off to my x stitching...oooh nearly forgot -my 1st tomatoes are starting to ripen and my 1st aubergine is nearly ready to come off soon :j

    have a great evening all

    Hello,

RS - What a cheeky witch your friends 'visitor' is, she's happy for you to run her around but doesnt want you at her party, perhaps next time she comes over you can run her around to somewhere she cant get back from !!!

I second Mrs Mc's suggestion to say your PC is playing up also, some people are unbelievable!! Think i could also do with some tips on rebelling also :p .

Nixy - You look fab in your photo! hope you had a lovely time!! i like seeing pics of the people on here, its nice to put faces to names!

DH is bk to work tomorrow, between me and a lady from his work we can get him to work and back fairly easily. im not supposed to drive much with my gammy hand as i call it so his workmate is being a star! and fingers crossed it looks like we can still go to center parcs :j.

    night night peeps!
