Are you talking to me?
No no!!!! I was referring to Ted. Sorry!!!
I have had in the past v bad skin though hence why I would recommend the salon for the peel. It's a bit like teeth whitening - you will never get as good a job done yourself as a professional would and the over the counter stuff has to follow certain guidlines and be mild etc.
Sorry for the confusion x0 -
Just wanted to add my experience; I'm in my mid 20s and have suffered with acne since my teens. Earlier this year I was diagnosed with polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) which, I'm told, accounts for my bad skin.
I have been told that in my case, hormone levels are inbalanced and eating any carbohydrate (so rice, pasta, bread, potatoes, sugar in my tea...) aggravates the inbalance and gives me acne (as well as other problems).
In reality not having a bit of toast, or some roast potatoes with your Sunday dinner is tough! So I just keep an eye on the carbs as best I can and use topical products to heal the few spots that do now appear. Thanks for the Dermalogica recommendation, I'm going to try some to incorporate into my skincare routine.
I've found Bio Oil beneficial for my acne scars but it doesn't treat acne and you must use it regularly without fail. It's a little cheaper on eBay than in Superdrug.
P.S. Roaccutane and Dianette do work but it's worth saying that neither are suitable for people who suffer from depression/anxiety.0 -
might have already been mentioned but I haven't read the whole thread! Zineryt topical solution is excellent. I had been on Dianette for around 10yrs. Had been persuaded here and there to come off it in order to see if my acne had disappeared with age, and I tried most things going - both over the counter and on the shelves. My Dr's surgery got a new guy who I saw about a neck strain and he advised me to use Zineryt (with Dianette for the first month) and it's been all I've used for the past 2months and my acne is completely at bay. I get less breakouts now than I ever did with Dianette and you get the added bonus of it being a topical treatment so you're not messing with your body's make up. You pay the prescription charge and a 30ml sol'n has lasted me for 2months and counting. You can get larger bottle which would make it even cheaper."a workman, even of the lowest and poorest order, if he is frugal and industrious, may enjoy a greater share of the necessaries and conveniences of life than it is possible for any savage to acquire."0

Another reason why we should first apply the research showing that a low carbohydrate paleo style diet seems to help.My weight loss following Doktor Dahlqvist' Dietary Program

If you read my post you would have seen the word "PALEO" do you understand what that refers to?Seems the lad had a "suspected allergic reaction" Ted, he could get that from a nut on a high protein diet
Peanuts are legumes and are therefore not allowed on Paleo diets.
If you are unsure then this video lecture will make it clearer the type of diet that has been suggested is best for those with acne.
Loren Cordain on Paleo foods
Relying only on those foods that were available to our hunter gatherer should provide us with those foods our bodies evolved to thrive on over 2 million years.

I didn't say peanuts, I said 'nuts'
walnuts, brazil nuts, macadamia, almond nuts can all be eaten on the diet and produce an allergic reaction right?0 -
So now tell me how many people die from NUT as opposed to peanut allergy in the UK on average each year?I didn't say peanuts, I said 'nuts'
