But this is a moneysaving forum and it is reasonable to expect people to use a little common sense and work out that with a few simple changes to their diet they can totally avoid the problem of excess hormones or inadequate natural anti biotic anti inflammatory status. We evolved over 2 million years and for 99.95% of the time our bodies were evolving we lived without refined carbohydrates and outdoors virtually naked. Of course those with a vested interest in promoting dependency on pharmaceutical products will want to promote life long dependency on expensive remedies but a moneysaving forum is not the place to do it.Loopy_Girl wrote: »I still use and guess what?
I really do think those who are never able to back up their claims with scientific research or make any constructive comments should think twice before they post.Really don't think there is any need for the swearing to melancholly either. My weight loss following Doktor Dahlqvist' Dietary Program

There is nothing constructive about your posts Ted so I agree wholeheartedly with you on that. Well done you for thinking that you should think before you post:beer:0 -

Out of desparation i tried the atkins diet which develops into a low Gi diet. My zits cleared, i feel full of energy and lost weight without felling hungry :T
My diet now consists of meat, cheese, eggs, fish, nuts, pulses, fruit (especially berries) and veg but no sweets, flour products, pasta, rice, potatoes. I.e, i have removed the high carb group with little nutrition and replaced it with high nutrition foods that are slower burn.
Occasionaly i have a carb binge which i usually regret because the zits return and i feel crap. I've spoken to GP's about this over the last few years who have no explantion and think its contrary to popular belief. My latest GP is on a low carb diet and confirms everything ive found. He thinks that weve been brain-washed over years to think low fat high carb diets are good but they actually lead to pale faced, spotty, cardiacs, fat diabetics that eat too many calories but are under nurished!
Good post...at least you are not preaching as if you know it and then posting some links to sites *yawn*.
That's fair enough if it works for you but my point also, specifically about the Roaccutane if the acne was that bad, was that I haven't changed my diet at all in the past 18 months and I went from really bad skin to clear dry skin - I cannot stress the change as it was enourmous - so the theory about food affecting skin isnt always correct or else my skin would still be the same. Unfortunately despite asking on a few occasions Ted has dodged this question as to why this could be if he is so obsessive that changing my diet would have cleared my skin up. If it was my diet that was causing my acne then why don't I have it now? and the reason for that is that acne, in some cases, is sod all to do with diet but as I say, Ted is not responding to this question. Probably as it requires some thought by him and not just posting up a link to a site that tells you to spend money by buying supplements that you would get from food anyway.0 -
language, ted, langauge!Ted_Hutchinson wrote: »Well why !!!!!! are you so opposed to taking effective amounts of magnesium to enable you to cope with stress???
as usual you are inaccuarate in your representation of other people's posts. if you can find anything anywhere that i have said arguing against supplements within recognised safety limits, then do your usual stuff and post a link. i think you'll actually find it impossible - but then again you do seem to have a problem with interpreting what people say, which doesn't hold much promise for your ability to interpret scientific papers..... (lack of training/experience aside for a moment):happyhear0 -
oh dear oh dear oh dear.... i work in scientific research ted.... it isn't all a big conspiracy (granted there are exceptions to that, but it certainly is very far from the norm).... maybe you've been out naked in the sun just that little too much

Does anyone here use a glycolic peel and if so which one? I'm thinking of giving one a try for my scarring.0

And yet again my question is neatly ignored.....:rolleyes:0

Personally I would treat myself and go to a salon and get it done. I wouldn't trust anything that is out there on the market and you will probably find that the content is a little higher in the beauty salons as they will be getting applied by a professional.
Just my thoughts though0 -
Out of curiosity, how much do you spend on all these supplements in a monthly basis?0
