Contact Ian Fraser, chief exec of Kwikfit. Print this stream of messages out, write to him care of
    Kwik-Fit (GB) Limited
    216 East Main Street
    Broxburn
    West Lothian
    EH52 5AS
outlining the whole story and enclosing the messages. He's very approachable about things like this, one of the 'good' chief execs of major companies. It will cost you a bit of time and a stamp, go for it. I speak as one who knows ...........:)

But, his good intentions don't seem to be "cascading" to far downwards do they?? :wall::wall:
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed

They don't, they simply prey on a first time killing. Sad but true.

^^ They have the advertising and flash premises.

These days people don't intercommunicate the way they used to, we're too busy competing with the neighbours (conservatories, cars, etc etc) to actually speak to them, bad word of mouth doesn't spread as easily any more.

Isn't it shocking to think someone could go to kwackfit, their fitter could tell porkies and say the brake discs need replacing, and they'll replace them with the cheapest crappest ones made out of the poorest metal. They might have slightly less braking performance, and might even need replacing before the originals would have had they been left on.

Free brake pads offer for life sounds great until you look at the small print and agree to let them do whatever else they want to your car (at a price). The small print just goes to prove that Kwikfit are a scam, and that the scam comes as much from head office as it does the youths on the shop floor who are no doubt expected to work to sales targets.

Took mine into Kwikfit for the tracking a couple of years ago - I tend to avoid them if I can but I just needed the tracking doing - and got told my brake pads were low. Took great pleasure in informing him I'd actually had them replaced a couple of weeks before, you moron. I didn't call him a moron, I made that last bit up.

I take the servicing and maintenance of my car very seriously, I tend to know what's going on with it. Futile attempts to convince me it's a rotting shed bore me.

KwikFit really are a total ripoff in my experience...quoted me £390 for a pair of tyres I later paid £180 for down the road. Dont touch them with a *very long stick* since.

Whenever I'm pricing up anything I need, I always give them a ring. It maximises the amount I save.
The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life. :)

Ah yes, another thread on the Cr*pFit AKA KwikFit.

Would never use again, not after them causing damage to my car, not having the right tools for the job and asking ME to go buy them for them, and putting my car in a un roadworthy condition causing it to fail an MOT test.

Avoid at all costs, the guys working in these places are usally found down the local on a Friday night talking about how they scammed some poor women out of her money the day before!

I too have learnt from my Kwik 'Fix' experience.

I took my Renault Grand Scenic in for it's £35 MOT. To find that it had failed on several aspects (some just minor bulb changes)

The first main problem was that the rear brake callipar needed changing as it was not working properly. Their quote for this part was around £160 ish plus VAT and Labour.

The second was the steering arm ball joint needed replacing and this would be around £70 plus the extras.

All in all the total cost was around £360 and as you can imagine i was a little miffed off to say the least.

Not convinced i took it to another local garage for some prices where they informed that the prices given were way more than what they would charge for parts. The other points they raised were that without actually looking at the callipar they would'nt be able to determine if it actually needed a new one or that it could be cables behind the system that needed changing so why were Kwik Fit so keen to jump the gun without actually checking?

I got them to re-MOT the car for a second opinion, and they did pick up on the Callipar but wanted to investigate before giving me a price, worse case scenario a new Callipar would be around £90-100. But there was no mention of a 'steering arm ball joint'? Hmmmmm?

It's booked in tomorrow to get sorted, plus a few bulbs. But to be honest i'm glad i went for a second opinion elsewhere. It has saved me probably around £160 (Not including the MOT fee)

    My advice.

    DON'T USE KWIK 'FIX'
