I found the referrals to the DFW board offensive. So what if we are more sensitive than them? In fact I wasn't aware there was such segregation on MSE I thought it was a kind of great big family type thing. Perhaps I'm just a bit naive. Anyway, I'd much rather be here than in their section I just want a quiet life.

  • There are of course people who borrow money with no intention of paying it back thats life and many of them are in Jail.

You read about them in papers (them of us still buying them)

BUT 99.999 % of forum users are here to get help to do what they can both to (if they can ) pay all or some of what they owe back and get on with there life.

In all the time reading posts here I have only seen ONE in 1,000s that in someway made me think the poster was trying to not pay back.

The people who borrow and run off not wanting or careing about paying back are not going to spend time here.............. they down the pub spending someones money

Its less black and white than that Billy, if DH name wasn't on the house deeds I would have declaired him BR myself as why should I pay back his debt.

Goodness me, what a thread that was. I'm new to these MSE forums and have only been reading the DFW boards. I was so shocked when I read the thread in question. Surely there is no need to be so callous and vile toward someone who is simply asking for advice. I shan't be visiting the homes board any time soon!! The DFW board is a much friendlier place. Chin up Angst and stick to the posters who are able to offer constructive advice and empathy

Don't forget if you feel truly victimized by any posts you can report them as abuse!

It's easy to give in to that negative voice that chants "cant do it" BUT we lift each other up.
We dont count all the runners ahead of us & feel intimidated.
Instead we look back proudly at our journey, our personal struggle & determination & remember that there are those that never even attempt to reach the starting line.

I wonder how many people have reported the OP without actually reading her post?! :D
"I'm not from around here, I have my own customs"
For confirmation: No, I'm not a 40 year old woman, I'm a 26 year old bloke!
  • I was totally shocked on reading that thread, i must be really naive to think that most people understand and that things change in your life that you can't change but you are dealing with it.
Lets hope nothing changes in their lifes for them to have to deal with hard times.

CQ a lot of people are struggling just within the limits of paying their bills, it can be very upsetting for them to see others getting away with not paying their debts. It's hard for people working hard to get somewhere to understand that others can't work. If you'd told me a week before DH became ill that we would be in the position we are now i'd have thought they were mad. We both had good jobs and insurance to cover the debts if the worst happened, what a joke that turned out to be.
