    The suggested home made mix is 1/3rd posh powder + 1/3rd cheap powder + 1/3rd soda crystals.

    That would work out to two lots of powder to one of soda.

    Given that a tablet is probably about the same amount as a scoop of loose powder I'd be inclined to aim at half a scoop.

    In any event a tablespoon is fifteen mils and a desert spoon is ten, so two tablespoons would equal just three desert spoons.


    Anyway - if what you do works, fine :) You can try reducing slightly and see how you get on - but don't worry about it :)

    I use store own brand non bio mixed half & half with washing soda (dead cheap) & I haven't noticed any difference between this & the Persil I used to use.

    i have no problems with value washing powder, just isnt so strongly perfumed

    I use lidls maxitrat washing tablets and whatever fabric conditioner is on offer! I only use 1 tablet and not the recommended 2 and the results are fine.

    By the way 2 3 litre bottles of comfort for £3.00 in asdas at the moment!

    I mix Persil 50/50 with cheap Netto powder (£1.88 for a 5 kg carton) and the results are ok. :)
