Yes that's the way that I read it re. using the .all file. I believe that the UK extended line firmware is for people on the end of a long exchange line. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -
Well the good news is I am still working and connected, the bad news is it didn't work!
It appears to be connected then I get a "request time out - Transfer Abort" message. Looked in the Menu - selected Firmware Upgrade (TFTP Server) and enabled it - still same message, had another search, within Management Setup enabled Enable remote firmware upgrade(FTP) - still same message.

Did you log into the router and click on firmware update? You need to point to the location of the firmware update.all file on your hard drive not a FTP server. More information here:doh: Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -
Well at least I am still connected.
It was the windows firewall which stopped it. It appeare to run OK then came back with a connection to router timeout error message, now when I try to view the router I get:
File System Invalid.
The file system of Web-based UI is inconsistent with router's firmware.
Please check the firmware version.

When you log into the router using 192.168.1.1 is there not an option to do a Firmware Upgrade? Usually a browse window then comes up so that you can locate the new firmware file on your PC and then just click OK. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0

Hi Espresso - my connecion is 10.0.0.1, and I am familiar with that, the tools I download gve me a Firmware Upgrade facility, no it was not in the menu, and I used that and it seemed to work. After I had switched off the Windows firewall it ran and connected, and I then got a message saying that router activity had been detected do not do a system or manual reset while running so I didn't, but it seems the User Interface is not matching the new firmware (or thats how i am reading it) I do not know whether to re-run it or not.

Sorry not familiar with these particular routers but normally when the firmware update is taking place, one of the LED's will flicker during the update process. I wonder if powering down the router would re-start it with the new firmware version? Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0

Tried that already espresso - wondering whethe to re-boot the PC - may try that next, also downloaded the router tools on the download page.
Titled change as Draytek experience needed.

BUMPED -re-booted, re-instaled, re-started everything, but still cannot see the router interface. Message:
File System Invalid.

Please check the firmware version.
