Cap One have a policy of automatically increasing your limit on your 4th statement providing you have run the account well - although it is always a bit of a guess to what they raise it to!

Not strictly true. I obtained a capitalone card on 1 March 2008, with £100 credit limit. After 10 months it remains at £100.

With such a low limit it has been quite easy to keep within it and pay off on time each month. I have not approached them about increasing the limit, but I am a little surprised they have not done so. It is difficult to see how I could have operated the account any better.

I also got the 0% on purchases on my new Capital One card for 6 months.

It was when I closed down my old Classic Visa. I got sent an agreement through the post for (the same card) but noticed the offer so accepted.

Funny thing is though, when it came through it was a Platinum card, but after the 6 months is up the rate goes back to the Classic rate

@ Sammygirl, thanks for the reply!

I guess the guy was telling porkies then! I only got the card out to improve my credit rating, my minimum payments are £12 I pay £60

Is this the best way to improve my credit score? I am also now enrolled on the electoral role.

I was hoping for a BT offer, like Halifax do throughout your time with them. (6.9% for life, 0% for 6months etc..)

So this definatley isn't going to happen with this sub Capital One card?

Hi Liam, never say never lol. Like Candice said, she got a good offer.

The best way is to try and pay off as much as you can each month so that you don't have huge interest payments at the end of the 6 months. Now that you have your C1 card, make sure that you nevver miss a payment or go over the limit as you don't want all of that hard work undoing. Plus if you put one foot wrong then they'll take that 0% deal as quick as a flash!

Spot on for being on the electoral roll. That makes a huge difference.

Have you got recent copies of your Experian and Equifax report so you can see exactly what info is held about you? It can be scary reading at first, but better the devil you know!!

Very good evening to you all.
Since when has the world of computer software design been about what people want? This is a simple question of evolution. The day is quickly coming when every knee will bow down to a silicon fist, and you will all beg your binary gods for mercy.
