Well i've have an old Abbey basic account i opened it about 4 years ago and never used, anyway when we moved i found an old statement, so popped in and swapped addresses and they said i have to reactive the account so i did paid in £100. One month later they upgraded it to an Instant Plus account with NO electron card so next month i'm hoping they either upgrade the card or upgrade the account.
Did you friend ask every month or just leave it, secondly how much was deposited each month?

She was sent out a letter saying she could upgrade and to sign the form and post it back. She had about £170 a week going into it

No i bloody haven't :mad: , Freemans never got back in contact!! So i take i have to wait 6 months between applying for all cards issued by Vanquis.

Thanks. I might pester them next month. They tell me there computers update on the 1st of each month so i wait and see what they say. I'm closing my Yorkshire bank account there sh*t. So it's Barclays or Abbey.

Why not Halifax? I'm with them and have a 2in1 Visa Debit card with £500 overdraft. I rate them very highly - their online banking is excellent and the branch/telephone staff are very helpful.

My parents are with them they have a Ulimate reward current account they have a 3in1 Visa Debit and £100 OD they love them.
I appiled for a normal account before i applied for Yorkshire bank and they said no :mad: but i can have a Easycash account (which i opened and never use) Do they upgrade on good behaviour because i read on the current account forum they don't.

I don't think the Hally do upgrade their basic account. You have to apply for the full one.
