Is there some reason the pricks can't just say no outright instead of making you wait to hear it in writing then?

Was there any need for that? I actually find that comment quite offensive.
My brother works for Barclays and he certainly isn't a "!!!!!" as you would call them.

Them "pricks" gave you £700 odd OD & £3000 CC didn't they?

    Breezy ;)
  • I very much doubt it is your brother who personally decides whether or not us lot get accepted for Barclaycards Breezy.

You implied you were talking about Barclays. If your refering to the computer system that decides on applications then why would you want to call a computer a !!!!!? You said "the pricks"

Anyway just saying I know these forums are free speach and all that but your choice of language you use in some posts arn't necessary.
    End of.

No, not touching the apply button till Feb 2009
Since when has the world of computer software design been about what people want? This is a simple question of evolution. The day is quickly coming when every knee will bow down to a silicon fist, and you will all beg your binary gods for mercy.
  • I'm tempted but can't - I reckeon I should settle and stop!
  • Sorry if you find my language shocking

    Hi there,

Just writing for some advice :-) I have a Sony, American Express Credit Card at 34%, with £3k on it. I have tried calling them and they won't lower the rate. I was wondering if anyone else had previously had any luck in lowering the rate with them? I have also applied for a three other 0% credit cards but was refused. Has anyone any suggestions on what I should do now, as I really really need to get this debt reduced.

    Many thanks
    Fusar

    Hi Fusar,

Do you know why you were declined? Have you got a copy of your recent credit report from Experian or Equifax? I would check that out in the first instance to see if it sheds any light on why you've been rejected. You don't want to be applying willy nilly as that will harm your credit even further.

Are you on the electoral roll as this makes a huge difference? Do you have any other outstanding credit? Do you have any late payments or defaults?

Post the info and we'll take it from there :)
