As long as you make a payment every month you will get a green zero every month on your report. As the card has a high APR I would advocate making small purchases and clearing it every month. Thanks for the information. What is the best way to make sure that my credit rating improves should I use the card for small purchases only and then pay them off or do I do the big purchases. Really want to sort my credit rating out as want to buy a house next year and want to be able to get a mortgage,.0 -

Hi all

Just been silly and applied for a barclaycard initial.....forgot they search both Eqifax and Experian... (My Experian file is good, no defaults and lots of 0's but I have a 4yr old default on Equifax).
Anyway at the decision page if got this message....
"Sorry we need more time.....
We are working on your application but a decision cannot be reached at this time.
This may be due to us not being able to validate all of the details you provided, or we may require further information before we make a decision. Rather than keep you waiting, we will contact you with our response."
I presume this is a polite....letter in post...sorry....DECLINED!!
Or has anyone here had this message and actually got approved?

Not really sub-prime related, but I've recently been approved for an Amex RED charity card with a nice £2000 limit and a relatively competitive APR of 16.9%! Can't wait to get the card. Ofcourse I plan to pay it off in full every month. 1% goes to Bono's (RED) charity in Africa.

P.S. a year ago I could not get these mainstream cards, but i've been following the tips from members in this forum and finally got hold of MBNA Platinum and now the AMEX Red. Thanks for all the advices!0 -

Evening people, just poped in to say hello before I hit the sack, how is life in the sub-prime world? Any news on anything, any new products around?Since when has the world of computer software design been about what people want? This is a simple question of evolution. The day is quickly coming when every knee will bow down to a silicon fist, and you will all beg your binary gods for mercy.0
