    Just a query.....

I have just had an alert on my Equifax file, so checked it out as you do!

    It states on the alert:

'An enquiry by REDCATS (BRANDS) LIMITED on 29/10/2007 has been deleted from your credit report.'

Now this statement is logged twice, giving the impression it's 2 seperate alerts.

So what does this mean and why has it been removed?? Also why have they alerted me to it??

Any advice much appreciated  Thanks

  • Hi all,

Just a quick Bank Account question.

I have had a basic bank account with Halifax for just under 10 years with my salary being paid into it but they have never let me upgrade it. Last month I opened a Natwest Current Plus account, I was just wondering if I apply for any credit in the near future which would be better to have on application form, a basic account opened for under 10 years or a current account for a month. I have heard different people say that bank accounts don't count for much when it comes to credit checks, but I just wondered if any of you know if this true or not.

    cheers.

Hi Screenager, welcome to the board :)

You'll find that not all bank accounts are reported to the CRAs. I may be wrong, but I think the majority of basic accounts are not reported. So in answer to your question, it is best to have the full account as that is being reported to all CRAs.

    Hi KP Nut

I wouldn't worry about it. All searches are held on your file for 12 months and then they get deleted. So all that message is telling you is that that particular search is being removed. Never a bad thing as the less searches you have the better :)

    Evening All,

Hope everyone is well. I'm still poorly :(

Anyways, spent the best part of 2 hours trying to sort my bank account out. Did the switching service with A&L and what a palava. I'm getting paranoid that my CC DDs aren't going to go out on time. Wages got paid into my old account so am trying to transfer funds across to hopefully cover the DDs in my A&L account. Arrrgh!!!

    Fingers crossed all is ok.

Blimey, I've just realised it's 9pm!! Right I'm off to bed - feel like carp and have to go to work tomorrow. Boo hiss.

    Night night all
