I got married this year in July and it was fab....had a honeymoon in Aruba that was out of this world.
What date do you get married? Going anywhere nice for a honeymoon?

My Vanquis card arrived with £500 limit, followed a couple of days later by the pin. Still waiting for my Aqua card....sent back the agreement about 10 days ago so hopefully wont be too long...think the limit is £1000 on that one but not sure until it arrives.

I came across this thread a few months back and applied for a Vanquis card and got given £250 limit. 3 months later it was increased to £500. I cleared the balance every month except for the one before they raised the limit. I was really pleased with this as over the last year I've struggled with a lot of debt that I previously had. I remortgaged and paid off 80% of the debt. The other 20% is with Natwest Credit cards between me and my husband. These are showing as defaults although we are keeping to agreed arrangements to repay the debt. I have a very low credit score - 493 - and have been refused a current account with First Direct and Lloyds TSB in the last few weeks.I have an A&L current account with 0 overdraft, which I requested. I have just finished paying off an Egg loan and completed the last payment on a HP car. The only payments I have now are for Vanquis and a mortgage plus normal household bills. On experian I have 1 late payment showing from last month with Egg and 4 defaults from last year - 3 of which are satisfied - the other is Natwest.
Sorry for the long intro but thought I might need to give some background before asking some questions.

Where do I go from here? I want to raise my credit score yet don't know what is the best way to do this. Am I likely to get any further credit with the defaults or current situation with Natwest? I really want to switch banks but am getting no luck. I really dislike A&L. I also want to be able to switch mortgages in May. Am i living in cloud cuckooland and will I have to wait this out for a few years?

I have a good job and a good salary - and want to start rebuilding my credit file.

ANy help appreciated please...

monument seem to be refusing most since they went back online accepting applications, i was rejected, yes you guessed it after 5 seconds of careful consideration too!!! lol

They do an Application score before they do a credit check with call credit. Maybe your application score was not enough to get through?

i dont understand the credit apps at all, monument say b****r off, flybe instant online yes decision, i think its a case of one in so many get through you just have to be lucky applicant 1123!!!! lol
