Kiora, thanks for standing my ground for me on that other thread, but I am just sick of fighting with people over there, I am not saying that I am perfect, far from it, I will tell you a little about myself, I was in a bad relationship for 7 years of my young life, my wife ran up debts in my own name without me knowing until it was too late, debts did not get paid, that was not the way I was raised by my parents and just got out of control. My head was in the sand for many years in terms of finance and personal stuff, I did not realise how much trouble I was in until I left her and I could not even get a basic cash card account. I was on fraud blacklists and defaults, CCJ everywhere, she had crippled me because of the selfish, evil person that she was/is. Unfortunately I have a son to her and still have frequent contact with her, but I will never forget what she had done and nor will I allow myself back to where I was then, my bills are priority and due to many reasons I was unable to pay back the monies owed in my name...they got bumped left, right and centre...sorry if I sound like a hypocrite but I was not in control then but have got things 99% sorted now, that is why I am so against people who because of a legal technicality, get out of paying back there loans/credit cards et al. I am no angel but at the same time my moral stance on this subject is stronger than ever before, sorry to have to waffle on here but I thought an explanation was needed here. ;)

i was in a very similar situation to you mr p, money wise and i too feel the same, nothing wrong with not payin if it aint your debt but if it is my moral is you borrowed it so you pay it back, ok may take time but its only right. i was made bankrupt and it was the worst time in my life yes i didnt pay the debts as i couldnt due to bankruptcy but i wished i could have and avoided that. thats a long time ago now and it was due to something not my fault, but i totally agree with yours and others sentiments and views. its just so easy for ppl to get out of thier debts by using clauses ect.
    waffle over!!:D
    self confessed 80's throwback:D

Morning people, fresh out side today mind isn't it?
Since when has the world of computer software design been about what people want? This is a simple question of evolution. The day is quickly coming when every knee will bow down to a silicon fist, and you will all beg your binary gods for mercy.

Hi, I am abit confused and need some help !, I always pay my Capital One card online using my Alliance & Leicester debit card on the Capital One site, and every time I get the payment successful message and the payment shows on my Capital One online Statement 2 days later, and at the time of the payment my A&L available balance drops before the payment actually debits my bank account 2 days later.

Now last Tuesday I do the payment as normal on the capital one site, it gets authorised and everything looks fine, although A&L internet banking was not working so I could not check the available balance on my bank account had dropped, but when it was working later on I checked and the available balance had not dropped !, which at the time I found a bit odd, so on Thursday the payment credits my Capital One account as normal, but still no debit from my bank account !, I contact Capital One who say yes the payment was authorised and has now credited my Capital One account, I also registered for Verified by Visa and it too shows the payment being made, but still nothing been debited from my A&L account !.

So in short I have a payment that was authorised from my account (I did have the funds), has been applied to my Capital One account but the bank has no record of it !, as such I do not want to use my Capital One account incase the payment drops off and it puts me over my limit, although Capital One are adamant the payment has been received and applied !. Help !.
  • Hi Guys,

Has anyone bt on their Flybe card know how long it takes to credit? they said 7-10 days.

I BT'd to my Halifax on Wednesday and my payments due the 10th so didn't want to go into credit if i make the payment in time to clear the same time as the bt does iyswim. not sure this makes sense but any replies greatly received. :)

You may be ok, but personally I would also pay off the minimum payment due.

It took Flybe 14 days to do the balance transfer to my Vanquis card, and 12 days to pay off Aqua
