forgive me for asking this but not used to paying balances in full lol

Used card yesterday for £140. Statement date will be 2nd November due to be paid 20 November. We have money to pay it off on 28th should we wait until after the statement is created on 2nd to pay it or will it matter if paid before that date ?

Paid last one over telepehone and they tried to sell me insurance etc AGAIN so do not really wnat the hassle of doing that. Or is it Aqua that once debit card is registered you can do it over telepone without speaking to a real person

Think I will set it up for online payments through bank, how do other Aqua card custeromers pay ? any problems with any methods?

    Hi Doelani :D

If you're planning on paying it off in full, then it doesn't really matter if you pay it on the 28th or the 2nd. Personally, I would wait until the statement came out, then you know exactly what the statement balance is and you can pay in one lot. But for peace of mind, you could pay it on the 28th - no difference really!!

I don't like phoning them up either, cos everytime you get the spiel about payment insurance, identity theft, card protection blah blah blah! Better to pay via internet banking - or I've set up a DD to pay off balance in full on my Cap 1 and Vanquis cos I don't trust myself not to pay it off in full lol

Lovely sunny day today - I'm off to a wedding fair this afternoon and then a carvery dinner mmmmmmmm :)

Well this is what I am going to do -

Flybe - transfered all balances to it.
Capital one - close (small limit - no hoper!)
    Barclaycard classic - close.
    Vanquis - close.

    Leaving...

Flybe - not too use as its 0% B/T.
JJB Card - small limit , use for day to day.

Then when the closed ones show as settled , apply for main bank (Natwest) or/and re-apply for a better Capital one . This is so I have two different cards from two different providers , in case problem with one of them. Also I reckon JJB will be phased out if/when the company goes into administration.

Am I doing the right thing?

    ;)

Also my finger got nervous last week and I applied for a 'My World' card with the same company that do Flybe. That was around 9 days ago , never heard anything , at the time got told ' we will write to you with our decsion' - must be going to get the decline letter!

Anyway , the card looks a useful one - use it to book concert and theatre tickets etc ! Mind you got tickets to see 'Jersey boys' in town last night for only £43 for the two of us - so can't see how we could have got cheaper!

P.S - Jersey boys is excellent if you like Frankie Vali!
