I have a Halifax Classic Visa and Aqua Mastercard. Got turned down for Vanquis and the MBNA cards though. Although Aqua have raised my limited a couple of times.

I've only got a Vanquis card, which I've had for 3 years. Not applied for another credit card until now, also my credit file isn't the greatest but managed to get a mortgage back in January.

No CCJ's but about 4 defaults, the last time I look! My mortgage monthly payments have not been missed and I've always kept my Vanquis account up to date.

hi all just new here, have been lurking for several months and love this thread. I want to thank you all. I have tried several cards and couldnt get monument, nor vanquis nor aqua and got 100 limit only with capital one. On seeing this thread i decided to bite the bullet and try flybe never expecting in million years to be accepted. I applied last wednesday and got the 7- 10 days response i could have kicked myself as have about 30 seearches in past 6 months and had vowed wasnt applyin until may june time til some dropped off. Well i came home from work this evening to find a flybe card with a 2k limit. Im in absoloute shock but totally over the moon. I can continue to budget as i have been and put the card away to help with my xmas presents and little things i will need. i will not go mad on it as i have learned the hard way but it takes so much pressure off me now. Thanks again everyone as i wouldnt have known about it if not for reading here. and i would say to anyone in despair as i was do not give up hope. Enjoy reading here every day and hope to become regular poster.
