A man is driving along in the Irish countryside, when he comes to a petrol station, since he's in need of petrol, the man decides to stop. He says to the attendant at the station, "Fill it up, will you?". The man says "Sorry - we're right out of petrol." So the man considers, and says "Well, I'm a bit low on oil, would you mind topping that up?" And the attendant responds"Sorry, but no oil either." The man thinks, and asks the attendant to wash his windscreen, to which he gets the by-now predictable response that he can't do that. The man at this point is fairly mad, so he asks the attendant "Just what kind of petrol station is this ?" The attendant then looks both ways, and very carefully whispers to the man "To tell you the truth, this is just an IRA front."

The man then says "Well, in that case, you can blow up the tyres !"

Michael Hoolihan was courting Frances Phelan. The young couple sat in the !!!!!! of the girl's house night after night, much to the annoyance of old man Phelan. One night he couldn"t take any more. Standing at the top of the stairs, he yelled down, "What's that young fella doin' here all hours of the night?" "Why, Dad, " said Frances, "Michael was just telling me everything that's in his heart!" "Well, next time, " roared Phelan, "just let him tell you what's in his head, and it won't take half as long!"

  • those with capital one cards.

how long did it take you to receive the card?

its been exactly 16 days since i sent mine back and i havent got a pin or welcome letter or any indication of when the card will come.

and the thing is i'll be moving within the next week,s o i kind of need this to not arrive at a place im not living at
  • Hi Dave,

I applied online on Monday and "signed" an online agreement there and then. I haven't got my card but my pin arrived today and the letter said to call them if my card wasn't here in 5 days.

I think it would be wise to ring them and see what's happening. Have you arranged for your post to be redirected, even if you get the cap one situation resolved I am sure it will still be useful.

Hope it arrives soon, what pattern did you go for?!

I applied for mine during the time of the secured deposit, about 3 years ago... It took nearly a month to come through. Things might be different now though.

As to those asking about a 2nd limit increase. I have also had the card for about 3 years now. My first limit was £200, which was increased to £600 on the 7th statement. It has never been increased since

Just waiting for my money to come through now so I can pay it off once and for all. Now I am getting cards with decent limits/APR, I no longer need Capital One.

I received my MBNA card today... Not christened it yet lol :rotfl:

I also applied for the Sky card over a month ago. I have heard nothing at all from them lol
  • I also got my MBNA pin today, not got that card yet either. All these numbers to remember! TBH I shall be using them online more often than not which is probably a good job as my memory is shocking unless it involves what time fitba training is or when the wee one has to be at dancing et cetera........
  • imma have to phone them and see them

because i got the "we'll contact you" message after applying and got my credit agreement

ulster was here in 5 days
