    Good Afternoon All,

I hope you're all enjoying this lovely sunny day. I love being on holiday from work :D

I spent the whole morning allocating my finances this morning and it's made me feel so much better. Then I checked online banking and I haven't been paid today  . Apparently I will get paid tomorrow. Had a SO bounce back which I know will incur a £35 fee - that will definitely get put straight onto my expenses claim this month.

One thing that debt has taught me is that I know exactly what is coming in and out of my account every month - and every penny gets allocated :D . And the good thing about our sub prime cards is that because the APR is so bloody high, I make sure I pay it all of every month. My Cap 1 balance is £300, and when I didn't care about my debt I would have just paid the minimum and let it just carry on. But now I don't want 35% interest on this balance so will pay it in full this month :D . No shopping for me this month as I will have about £5 left over at the end :D

    Sub-Primer Rule :T

Darcy, I hope your card comes soon. It will arrive when you least expect it!

i agree with everything you have just said sammy in about january i did not even know who or what the cra's were or what they did it is so important to manage your finances in this day and age (credit crunch) i am just about on top of everything that i aimed to do by christmas with only one thing to do and that is to save a bit of cash so i can pay for cash for xmas pressies then i will be ontop of everything yeah it is also nice for me to be off work i have been cleaning the aftermath of the weekends doings as loads of friends and family were up for my sons 5th oh the joy of partys lol

I know, I didn't give a flying fancy about credit reports, but now I'm obsessed with them lol!! My motivation is to owe £zero (apart from mortgage) and to have a mortgage with a high street lender. My mortgage is with a sub prime lender but our fixed rate ends in March next year and I'm really worried. I want to be able to say yeah I have defaults, but every single one is paid off and I know how to manage my money now. Definitely helps that I have never missed a mortagage payment (thank God) and that I don't have any CCJs. My aim is to secure a 3 year fixed rate next year, and then when I remortage in 2012 I can get a high street lender (hopefully). Yay :j

But without this thread I would never have thought that I could have applied for any card, therefore rebuilding my credit better (and quicker). So for that I thank you and all of the fantastic sub-primers. It makes me feel so much better to have people in a similar situation to talk to where I don't have to feel ashamed about my debt.

everyone has problems but some people try there hardest to fix them its the guys that dont do anything and then its us the ones that struggle to fix everything that get tarred with the same brush

I know!! There's long threads on DFW about CCA requests and using these as a way of not paying the debt back. Everyone has their opinion and mine has always been I borrowed the money, spent it and I will pay it back. I'm just disappointed that it took me so long to realise my problem. But, I'm on the right track now :)

Good luck with the cleaning. I'm halfway through decorating our living room. I physically hate painting!!! Can't wait until it's all over and done with :D

Wonder if anyone else has got their MBNA yet? I love mine, it's so beautiful. And it doesn't scream "ADVERSE CREDIT!!!!" LOL

I applied for the MBNA via your link and got accepted for the 17.9% APR. It is a dark grey (almost platinum ;) ) colour and is so beautiful!! I would post a piccie but have no idea how to black out my personal details.

I applied online I think about two weeks ago. Got accepted online, but never received anything in the post. Got my pin number and a phone call last week, and then got the card on Saturday just gone. Never got an agreement to sign but I checked the box on one of those online agreements.

Out of my Cap 1, Vanquis, Halifax Classic and my MBNA, the MBNA is definitely the most competitive one I have in terms of limit, APR and BTs. I would like to think that I'm slowly climbing up the ladder but i don't think I am :o . Still have 2 defaults on my file, one which was settled in June but not shown yet as settled, and one that will be settled in the next couple of months.
