I applied for a Virgin card last week (run by MBNA) and they turned me down instanly...

....So I followed Darcy's link and thought as its MBNA it would be another instant decline , and at the end of the application it asked me to call them between 9am and 5pm . So will have to wait until Monday!!!!

thats is what i got and guess what i was accepted for 19.9% £500 credit limit so i think you will get one too fingers crossed

What I also did was ask to transfer a balance of another card (when I was prompted ) so maybe it will let me?
What questions did they ask Darcy?

well when i rang them they went through security q's they then said hold whilst they review my application and credit file at this point i nearly hung up dreading yet another sorry were unable to accept you at this point in time the music stopped and i heared the woman say mr ??????? hi im sorry were unable to offer you the card right how well i thought yet again then there was a however i can offer you it with 19.9% i was gob smacked so i said sorry she confirmed what i thought i heard and she said the agreement will be sent out straight away how happy was i......... i think you will be accepted but maybe with a variation of the card let us know how you get on london

i just applied for this and got the same message.

if it was going to decline - would it just say so?, has anyone phoned them up and got laughed at / instant no?

dont want to get hopes up lol

i have prev been turned down for virgin as well.

nope i think this message is a simple yes but i think they need you to phone to give you there/your apr
