Just a thought - has anyone tried the littlewoods card? I seem to remember it being fairly easy to obtain and came with £400 limit. It is barclaycard in disguise (again!!!!!!!!!) :rotfl:

Just be careful with Littlewoods if you don't pay your balance off every month.

Their min repayment is higher than most.

For example, £2000 outstanding will mean min repayment of £100 per month.

Also make sure you can control yourself if you apply for one.

My wife applied for one and got £1000 limit. The following month they raised it to £2000, the following month £4000 (both times without any request from ourselves) at which point my wife phoned them and asked them to reduce it back down to £2000.

mr P, that search file you had, is that the one that combines all 3 credit companies together, or is that a seperate credit company, if you see what i mean lol

carolan, well done for being able to work from home, i also consider myself lucky enough to be able to make a good living from home too, and its just great not having to worry about the extras such as childcare etc, so hope you really enjoy it, altho at times i tend to find i could go overboard with the hours more than i would if i had to travel to an office lol x
  • Does anyone know whether having a current account with a bank has any effect when you apply for a credit card with them?

Well it can help your case because they already know your finanial situation and if it is auto declined on the computer they will certainly look at it manually and take into consideration you Current Account.

Quick question as I know alot of you have the Capital One (classic is it? the one for those of us with a bad credit rating :o )

I got mine about 6 weeks ago, but only used it about 4 weeks ago - I have yet to receive a statement. Is this right?

I tried signing up to the online account but it says it cannot verify my information. I am entering my name exactly as it is on the card etc

It depends when your statement date is, you should be due one, give them a ring on; 08009525153 and speak to an advisor, the classic card is aimed at those with bad credit or people who are new to credit cards with little or no histroy of borrowing.

  • I've yet to get a statement for Cap One too, which is worrying me a little. I couldn't sing in to the online services either. Nightmare.

Hope you get yours sorted, I have to gather together the courage to phone them up, I hate being phone-phobic:(

    Hi,

Just applied for an Cap1 Classic card and got the following message:-

Thank you for applying for a Capital One Credit Card.

We are currently reviewing your application and need to do some final checks before we can confirm our decision to you.

We will write to you next in the next 7 days to let you know our final decision. We may ask you to send in further information in order to approve your application.

While you are waiting for our decision, please don't re-apply for a Capital One card. We will get back to you as soon as possible.

Is this good or bad? This is my first and I do not have any adverse information on my credit report.

    StarM

Well got the accepted letter from Capital One today for my 1st card.
