    Hello everyone

Just picked up my post today and in there was the confirmation of the limit increase I had from Vanquis a week or two ago I noticed the increase when I paid my last bill over the phone because it always tells you your available to spend. Just thought I’d share the letter as some of the wording made me smile and have a little chuckle to myself, well the first few line’s anyway.

Banner Line **** Customer Credit Status Upgraded new credit limit £2000 *****

    Dear Mr ***********

It’s not every day that you arrive home to such great news but you’ve earned it ( I have haven't I :D ).Because you’ve been managing your Vanquis card so exceptionally well, it’s with great pleasure that I’m now able to upgrade your credit limit to £2000.

As you know, your Vanquis Card is so convenient as it gives you the freedom to shop online or in any of the 29 million outlets worldwide that accept Visa. But now you can also enjoy the extra convenience of the attached credit card Cheques.( watch out for those cheques trying to tempt me down that path:D ).

Just think, with your increased credit limit you can write your cheques out as you would a normal cheque (If Barclays would let me have one that is:D ) and use them to convert into cash in your pocket (trying to tempt me again:D ). We’ve even written one cheque out to the value of £800 for you to pay into your bank account to boost your balance (how thoughtful:D ) we’ve left the other ones blank so you can use them as you choose.

It does go on a bit more but you get the idea I now seem to get the cheques with each statement but I shall resist.

Does anyone know is £2000 the max now with Vanquis or does anyone have a higher limit just out of curiosity of course .Also do they still offer the Gold card anymore, any one been upgraded to that card ? Mine is the old Abacus style the lowest of the low:D but they seem to just offer the Blue one now.
  • Nice limit Whamy, manage it well... I'd be tempted to blow it all on a new PC so it's a good job I'm not you:D

Welcome back Darcy, did you enjoy the delights offered by God's own county?

Clio, you are labrador like in your knowledge of where we all are, I am impressed.

Now, to the pressing issue: How much bother are we going to get in while Mr P is away and not keeping us in step? *evil*

I shall start the proceedings by shouting an inappropriate word, very loudly:

    AN INAPPROPRIATE WORD!

    See what I did there?;)

    N'night folks:D

    Hey Woody

Not sure which account you mean so I’ll mention both.

Had my Cap one account since early 2005 had my £200 deposit returned mid 2007 and then my increase to £800 a few weeks ago.

Vanquis card opened mid to late 2007 with £500 limit. First increase about four months after that to £1000 then an increase of £500 every 3 months so in under a year it has now standing at £2000. I do use the card a lot for both personal and business use so there is always a lot of activity on the account which has probably helped.

    Hi Everyone

Does anyone know which Halifax Current Accounts report to which CRA's?

Just opened a Halifax High Interest Account with a £100 overdraft, so I'm hoping they report it.

It's somewhere on this thread but I can't find it.
