  • do basic bank accounts show up on credit reference agencies?

and can they make a diffence to your credit score seeing as they are not actually bank accounts and dont have over drafts or debit cards

because i have 2 basic 2 mainstream (one of them being advantage Gold, which i took out so i could get Advantage Business half price, they must just give that out to anyone, free green flag cover is a life saver though, but i have a solo card, so i guess there are different levels).

no more applications until July now, see if i can get that flybe and consolidate my cards

after another six months, i would have been building up my credit rating for 18 months, what would be a good mainstreem card to start with

turned 18 in april, went on elec register in August, have 2 accounts showin as in arrears atm, but ive sorted them out so next month shud b good

and how bad are arrears on a credit file?

I also have a basic account with NW, all I have is a cashcard and do not have a cheque book or anything like that let alone an overdraft facility. It has been my main account for 9yrs but does not show up on any of my files. How has it helped you? Or maybe you haven't got a basic a/c

  • Its only a basic account flexi - no overdraft and only cashcard. I still use it but mostly when I am away in Europe to withdraw money - as it is free. Before I opened and for a couple years after I couldnt get credit at all or a decent bank account....then managed to open Littlewoods then a A+L premier account with full debit card and chq book then overdraft.....now things are getting even better..Nationwide did report since I opened in 2003 so I have loads of green 0's. To anyone looking at my file they wouldnt see what type of account as it states - current account.
  • wierd how it doesnt show - maybe ask Equifax/Experian to investigate?
