And also, can we please ensure that we aren't rude about Tesco shelf stackers? The majority are doing their job well and when they do spot misprices, they are ignored. It is incorrect to assume that everyone who works in Tesco stacking shelves isn't too bright just because they are earning money in a way of their choosing.

Hear Hear, The lovely man I told you all about is fantastic, I always pass the time of day with him part of my argument to head office was the way the manager ignored him, I worked in managment for more years than I remember and MY POLICIES were never ask anyone to do something you are not prepared to do yourself, and listen to what your collegues say, most of the time they have forgotton a lot more about their job than you will ever learn. IMHO the most important jobs at Tesco are , The guys who fill the shelves & cleaning staff, because a] you would not have any goods to sell without them , b) for H&S you could not open a food store without them. The management comes way down the list of vital staff a point that some at T's would do well to remember.

And just to highlight the fact they value their security personal far highly than their hygeine personal or shelf replenishers now I don't know about the rest of you but I see a significant flaw there! It's not like the security staff are IQ tested before they sign them up, so long as they can remember their own name and not too many of their tatoo's are showing their in! They give them high tech toys to play with but they spend all day playing pacman on their mobiles waiting for the manager to call them to turf out some menacing mother with a couple of kids in tow for daring to answer back or insisting on policy being observed. Then they trot off home and tell the missus how they kung fu kicked this flick knife wielding drug crazed aids ridden handbag snatcher after chasing him for seven miles "because the police are useless and don't know how to deal with real crooks" "it's just me and the boys between heaven and anarchy honey"

    too much brandy tonight!

Why didnt you tell us about the misprice on the brandy????
  • I visited Culverhouse Cross Tescos tonight and was amazed at the lack of shelf labels and misplaced items everywhere. Couldn't see any misprices unfortunately, had a load of vouchers and was directed to a till, the lady there refused to take any of them if I hadn't bought the items. Next stop was my home town store, found some pork, paid, they refused my vouchers again, went to CS and they said the pork was not in the right section. So a fruitless visit tonight, which is unusual as in the past couple of weeks I have always managed to get something, maybe they are tightening up on the prices.
;) I am the only Voucher Queen in my village LOL ;)
  • I have been looking into having my shopping delivered and have always shopped at Asda as they are supposed to be the cheapest but don't do delivery in my area. I looked at Tesco and checked out their "price checker" and they seemed comparable. The catch with the price checker is that it doesn't list all the options for instance if you ytpe in spring onions it lists tesco's as 58p per pack and Asda at 73p a pack when infact if on my asda bill a pack was 35p and on tesco 39p. Armed with this I decided to register and check out who was cheaper. On the 14/09 I shopped at Asda and bought 120 items and then attempted to purchase the same items from tesco online.

Some items i had to substitute from a value brand for a dearer option but that was only three items.

Cost of 120 items in asda was £142.18
Cost of 120 items in Tesco was £167.17, there were a few price reductions lowering this to £164.50.

So from my experience Tesco for me was £22.32 dearer. :T

I reckon that if they mis-priced brandy then it's bound to pay dividends for Mr T's as we'll all be to sloshed to get down there for the other stuff :rotfl: :rotfl:

On a lighter note you can in some Asda's get a £2 card for it. they have it shelf edged at £22.87 per litre but scanning at £24.87 so difference plus £2 its only £22.95 in Tesco though, so you still save £2 on the bottle and can use the credit card to save all your credits up for another bottle free at Christmas or in my case enough for 3 or four!

  • Whats the limit on what we can get tho..

For example, say i pick up a bottle of JD and its price is wrong on the till. I would get if for free.

Say if i turn up with 15 bottles of JD, will i get them all for free.? Whats the limit, how far can you go, does this cover goods like TV's where they are worth more, surely your limit is to how many u can buy.?

So if i goto the shop, but something and its more expensive / cheaper i get it for free.?

    Alias
