Went into Tesco Toton this morning to find a new poster over the old Tesco policy stating

that's the same as on their website (as noted in post number 2 in this thread). It used to say that in my local tesco but then it was changed to the one that redfox quoted in the opening post. Confused? I think we all are :rotfl:0 -
I suspect the problem is simply because the average store does not have enough staff to change all the tickets every time a promotion ends or a price is changed. Therefore errors do creep in, but they are not deliberate.
Maybe but when I acompanied a CS woman and manager to the meat isle recently for chicken overprice a lovely man who was filling the shelves remarked 'I told them [epos] that those chicken prices were wrong and there is a load more round the corner on the meat [drat missed them] but they told me it was none of my business, he was really fed up. Told me later he had worked in retail over 30 years and he had never seen so many misprices.0 -

In many cases the extra pound spend lost will affect targets and it can be tempting to leave pos for that very reasonFour guns yet only one trigger prepare for a volley.Together we can make a difference.0

Thanks Ben thats what I thought I had done,
On another note got a reply back from Head Office re my diasgreement with the night manager last week [in last thread] about a reduced chicken. Quote ' We aim to provide the very best service and it is disappointing when a customer is unhappy with any aspect of our operations. I would like to thank you for bringing this matter to our attention and I am confident that you will not experience any more problems on your next visit to our
store. Further to our telephone conversation please find enclosed £3 in Tesco gift vouchers for you to use with my apologies. Do you think £3 is enough to hire JO-Lo's bodyguard for my next visit0 -

Still argueable. How do you know you were overcharged? Because the price on the shelf was lower. My local store replaced their policy a few weeks ago with a poster changed to the quote from Redfox's first post. I thought that this was their way of wriggling out of the meat misprices because of the "price on the product" part, but Ben500 and Mr Smartprice convinced me otherwise. They have to charge the lowest price displayed for the product.
Maybe that's their way out of it? Do they legally have to have a shelf price for meat and cheese? The product label tells you all the information you need about price per kg. I agree it's inconvienient for those who shop by looking at the shelf price, but I just wonder if this would be their next logic step?
And also, can we please ensure that we aren't rude about Tesco shelf stackers? The majority are doing their job well and when they do spot misprices, they are ignored. It is incorrect to assume that everyone who works in Tesco stacking shelves isn't too bright just because they are earning money in a way of their choosing.Who made hogs and dogs and frogs?

.
You could always come straight out with, "I know because it wouldn't be in my basket if it wasn't overpriced" :rotfl:Four guns yet only one trigger prepare for a volley.Together we can make a difference.0 -
