When my wife and I found out about the Tesco policy we made the extra effort to look for items that had a significant change or variation in price, and for a while it did us some good. However, my wife came back home after a visit to Tesco's to inform me that she had been stopped outside the store and spoken to by the manager for "taking liberties". He then accused her of buying way more products than we have ever, accused her of buying for Trade again which we have never, and generally embarassed her outside the store. At no point did he tell her she had the option to go into a private area, just merely carried on "telling her off" outside the busy store.
Warning to Tesco's if you want to advertise your policy don't be surprised if people actually benefit from it. :rolleyes:0 -

Please name and shame this store. The manager needs to be brought to task on what he has done. Regardless of whether or not you're abusing the policy he has no right to do what he did.
This is a plain and simple case of slander. He should be forced by head office to make an apology. I also wouldn't accept the apology being made in writing. I would demand that he give it in person at the front of customer services, this exposes his mistake to other customers.
I know it's easy to suggest doing this and harder in practise but the principal dictates that managers be made an example of. I have yet to have someone confront me about returns and in the event that they do I will make certain that they feel as bad as they try to make me feel.
If a policy is not there to be adhered to then ditch the policy. Where a policy is to be enacted then they should do so in a civil way.
I would like to offer a little assistance to everyone here. I've considered for a while creating a website where we can gather instances of poor customer services. From there we have a central point of reference for repeat offending stores. Would anyone use this to report their incidents for Tesco to see en-mass or is this a waste of my development time?
Also, forgot to say that under the freedom of information act you have the right to know what records they've kept on you to determine that you are the abuser they claim you are and that you're purchasing for trade. Without proof this is highly questionable behavious for a senior representative of TEsco.... and that's all I have to say about that.0 -

I'd go back and play the indignant husband on her behalf and enquire just exactly what he felt her transgression had been then take it up with HO and demand an apology in writing, these managers are doing their best to deter people from obtaining r&r well everything in their power EXCEPT getting the prices right!!!!!Four guns yet only one trigger prepare for a volley.Together we can make a difference.0 -

Absolutely disgraceful, I am of the opinion that every time they mess people around call, HQ and give them details. Be as absolutley arkward as possible.
They have been found out and they don't like it. It's just a shame that we have no easy way to combine the details and information we have all found to well and truly kick Tescos right up the backside (suggestions anyone ?), because even with the large amount of pressure that we have placed upon them they are still an absolute total and utter disgrace, in 2 months Tescos has gone from probably being my favourite store to being one the I am absolutely furious with.Drat and Double Drat, curse that Mr T excuse for not giving me a refund.
EVERY LITTLE EXCUSE HELPS in trying to get out of the R&R policy when the law has been broken, especially on high value items.0 -
!!!!!! Dastardly,
Check my post above as I've suggested a way I can help to co-ordinate everyone's gripes.
Please let me know if it's a good idea and I'll happily put it together.
Dre... and that's all I have to say about that.0 -
