Wasn't Beckton again was it Pete?

No, 'twas at another of their fine stores!!

The transaction was performed very late at night, and the staff only offered the difference. The duty manager's opening remark was "I aint giving you twenty quid for that"! - Well, I thought, I gave YOU twenty quid for it!!

Perhaps the less than average Beckton staff run the CS at "this place" during the night, and the good people go to Beckton?

One thing I would say though, is that CS not only refunded my dosh, they also gave me a £5 gift voucher.

The power of HO is not to be under estimated!

so you just go into tescos find the product and take it to the tills, if it's a differnt price to the one on the label the store will give it you for free?

Is that the kind of walk that starts as a slow stride so you don't alert other people, picks up a little speed, then when you're out of sight... run like the clappers?

Not quite. You buy the product. You realise you have been over charged. You take it to cs and they go to check that the price you were charged is too much. They return and ( probably) try to get you to take a refund of the difference. You point out that they promise to refund and let you keep the product ( on the wall behind the desk ) . Then they either pay up or you leave with the product and call the Head office who should give you a refund.

You MUST pay for it before alerting ANY staff, otherwise they will remove the lot from the shelves.

The Refund And Replace policy will be in effect if you pay the higher of the two prices for the product (shelf/poster or on the item itself).

I dont understand it either. I just went to Ipswich tesco and the sticker price on the shelf was £568 for the laptop. He gave me my credit card slip to sign and it had £568 on it. Was with my daughter and I couldnt keep a straight face and we burst out laughing and I would not sign it. So came away with nothing. Can someone explain exactly what I should look out for?

The customer service people might well argue with you. There could be an unpleasant scene. However, head office have backed up the policy even on some computers that were mispriced earlier this month.
