Quick question - is there a Tesco policy related to overcharging due to double scanning? I was charged today for 3 items when I only bought two. Customer services only refunded me the amount for the extra item. Compared to the R&R policy for misprices, this does appears a little unfair.

Originally you would have received r&r for such an incidence due to confusion over the wording, the wording was modified to exclude this type of overcharging along with r&r for undercharging, which is ludicrous really because they have the most to gain from someone alerting them to an undercharge as this is profit calculated into their budgeting which is not going to arrive in the coffers. Effectively the r&r policy excludes errors made by checkout operators to avoid them arranging r&r for cohorts posing as customers.

do the stores have a customer scanner to check the prices as i couldn't find one anywhere in my local tesc extra and they have 2 of the previously mispriced p.c.'s on the shelf.

    Thanks ben500 for this explanation.

There is usually one situated near foods and another in clothing dept of most extra stores some have as many as four, if you cannot locate a scanner simply ensure that you watch the price come up when scanned and change your mind and as them to scan it off if all doesn't go well.

I got chargesd three time for something last week but only bought two of the item, got twice the price refunded and a free item - seems like a little bit of confusion going on! Also in the Weston Super Mare store they have started selling cameras, but the important bit is that underneath they have a printed bit describing the refund policy - if you're overcharged you get your money back plus you keep the item - so keep an eye out for new displays as hopefully they will include this guarantee so that customer services can remind themselves if necessary!

Bit disappointed that didn't have any of the Dallas dvd's at all, never mind wrongly priced, would have made a great pressie for my mum!

    Hi

weekly shopping with OH today, went to a differnt tescos just out of interest ;) found a pile of PCs, including the 349.93 ones !

told OH all about tesco and MSE. sent him back in with instructions ! he took one to the till. cashier scanned, then called supervisor over.

"can't sell it I'm afraid, there has been a PRE" "PRE ? what that" "It's a product recall emergency", "Oh, why can't you sell it to me then" "well, it means that the products are dangerous or contaminated etc. sorry. we will have to take them all off the shelf"

    Oh well

First and last time OH is going to be getting a R&R for me ! :rotfl:

Funny how they had a "PRE" as soon as you wanted to buy it, why hadnt they cleared the shelves before that?
