What a load of balls. The senior manager wouldnt give me her name either,
This morning I called up tesco and they gave me a load of crap that I hadnt been overcharged because if the price on the sel is what you get charged, its not an overprice.
That's rubbish!
The SEL's are very often correct with what you get charged!
The posters or stickers or other offer labels are the prices that often leave them open to you claiming the refund. It doesn't matter where it is. If it states a cheaper price somewhere on or near the product then that is the price you should pay! Once you get the knack of spotting them it's so easy!Keep SmilingSite member number 24

I never give mine out either. But its a bit hard with a name like mine, they just always say "the big tall guy called Joel" and they've pretty much narrowed down 200,000 employees to me.
Oh !!!!!! actually I just realised what I did.....
</me hides from spying Tesco HO eyes...>Yes, I work for Mr T, but anything I say is not given as an official response or representation from Mr T, and is usually best taken with a pinch of salt, lightly toasted and served with a chardonnay or rose wine. Mmmmmmm.0 -

Duty manager was given in-front of me a good old ear-bashing from HQ, I could see the smirk just drain away from his face, while my smirk worked in an equal but opposite direction. Best option is to call directly from CS desk or get CS person to do it for you, giving the number off the top of your head 0800 505555.
Er but as the song says 'Never on a Sunday' HO aren't open then as I found out when I tried the wide smirk and recited the phone number in front of a Duty Manager. Ces't la vie, got through early Monday though before 9.00am via Head office in Herts Tel 01992 632222, they are just as nice. + Corporate Responsibility teams number is 01922 644797. Now that really stumps Duty Managers0 -
Joel wrote:So, to summarise - Tesco, like every other employer in this world, lets some people down. It has its lows, and its highs - and *I* am choosing to move on from Tesco as they no longer satisfy my needs for my future career path.
Good luck Joel and to quote an old saying BREAK A LEG0 -

If you have bought an item you are a customer. If you were overcharged on any item then you will be refunded on that item and get to keep it. That's of course assuming you notice!
I had a new overcharge rule stated to me in Bedford last week!
Sir, You haven't left the premises with the overcharged goods so the best we can do for you is to refund you what you have been overcharged!
But I have left and come back in, the rest of the shopping is in the car, and I've come back in with the mispriced goods.
That's not left the premises sir, it's still Tesco property!
Okay yes you're right but that is not Tesco' policy. Can I either take your name and I'll contact HO in the morning or you can call your manager to speak to me!
So she went to the phone in a huff and called a manager.
The manager was completely different and he came with me to the shelves then ordered the refund stating to the CS staff that this is company policy!
I asked him to politely, but firmly, explain this to the original lady that had, by now, dissapeared!
So before getting your refund make sure you drive out of the car park, around the roundabout and then back in, so that you have left the premises! lol.
How do they come to the conclusion that is tesco's property, did they forget that little matter of it being scanned through the till for the purose of money being handed over in exchange for goods.
It's like saying you have my money, but its still mine so i can still spend it.
I am glad that has never been said to me, i dont think i would have ben able to control the laughter. I would have probably wanted to record it so that i could listen to it over and over again.
I think they must have been mixed up a little with the cretin who enters the store with theft on their mind and when they have walked out the door with the product concealed on their person "it is still tesco's property".The best things in life are for FREE!!!If you like what you see and find this info useful, please use the thanks button. Absolute Boll*cks! The transaction was complete once you handed over your payment and the receipt issued, from that moment on the goods were yours, go back and request your fulfillment of refund and replace as per their policy. Alternatively contact head office and get a little indignant with them about how ill informed their staff are on your statutory rights and their own company policy!Four guns yet only one trigger prepare for a volley.Together we can make a difference.0 -
Miss G & Ben,
It's me that hasn't left Tesco property (not left the car park) not the goods are still Tesco property!
LOL.
As Ben said though her idea to only give me the difference was B******s!Keep SmilingSite member number 24

If the goods belong to Mr T up to the point where they leave the carpark, does that mean I can load my trolley up with computers and other such goodies, walk past the security guard and out of the shop, load the stuff into my car and drive around the car park for an hour, without the slightest chance of being nabbed for shoplifting?
I don't think I'll try it.0 -

a member of staff in our store was dimissed for gross misconduct this week over the overcharge policy. He bought 2 crates of budweiser beer on his break for a party that night - which is perfectly acceptable (were allowed to shop in our breaks)... he then genuinely realised afterwards that hed been overcharged so went to get his refund (while still on his break) - as per company policy...
Now why was he dismissed?.. Because the manager believes he purposely KNEW he was going to be overcharged for it and therefore get it for "free"... which is "purposely defrauding the company"!
If this is how they treat their staff over the policy! Well... :rolleyes:0
