    Afternoon all

Sunny but a bit of a cool breeze here in Kent. Two loads of washing blowing on the line, one small pile of ironing done.

Have made up some pots and baskets for the patio with some plants that arrived yesterday from online garden people. Should look good once they establish themselves. Had roast turkey breast and trimmings for dinner, lovely it was.

Its DGD's birthday tomorrow week and she will be 4. Having a party so have just gone online and ordered a penyata, a bashing stick and a blindfold, should liven things up a bit. She will have a little tea party for her friends a day or so before but on the day its family so that should be a bit of fun.

Have a good day everyone - ta ta xxxxxxxx

    Afternoon all,

Nothing exciting here, OH and I out for breakfast with a friend at a local hotel....chat was good, breakfast only all right!

The few days I have left to prepare for holidays are going to be busy...have to get hair cut, eyebrows done ( they will look better for longer!), finish packing and make sure that I have copy of all bookings so that we will have somewhere to stay when we leave the family!

Pasta made by DD4 for dinner, not hungry yet, salad to make and fruit for pudding, not doing anything fancy anymore.

DS3 and family away to Sardinia to-morrow so their 6 month old dog is coming here for the week, she is half chihuahua, half jack russell and cute, she has been getting used to us over last week or so for a few hours at a time so hope that she will be ok.

Hugs to Smoky, PenPin, Mrs Mix, Candygirl and Bethebee and anyone else in need or want.

    Hiya! :hello:
Hope everyone is healthy and happy.
Hugs to Penpin and to anyone else in need.
I seem to have been so busy over the past week. On friday evening DH helped out at his school year 11 school prom which was held in the same hotel as our wedding reception. Meanwhile, I took the girls to DD2's May fair and then onto our church's bring and buy sale. Thankfully we didn't come home with too much c**p. :rotfl:
Yesterday it was the usual orchestra/swimming lesson in the morning and then a trip over to MIL's to do her shopping etc. My MIL is hard work, negative and not very appreciative. When we announced that we couldn't make it over there next weekend as we're going to a wedding on Saturday and a trip out on Sunday to celebrate my birthday, she announced 'I feel abandoned' Shame she didn't think about that when she packed DH and his brother off to boarding school when they were 11! DH is getting pretty cheesed off with her and thankfully doesn't fall for her emotional blackmail anymore. Makes me grateful for my own family and thankful that DH is nothing like his mum.
This morning we went to church and I taught sunday school, not many kids there today though. This afternoon DH and the girls went down to a free youth festival called The Hub and seemed to enjoy all of the events. It was held by the river which is only a 10 minute walk from where we live and they came back with cds, footballs and lanyards. I decided to stay at home so that I could catch up with the washing, menu planning, writing shopping lists, getting stuff ready for the week etc.
Tonight's tea will be pittas, salad, beef and wedges. I've still got my school planning to do, make the packed lunches and tackle the dreaded ironing.
The weather here is dry but a little on the cool side. DH is cutting the hegdes and the girls are playing out in the road with friends.
    Have a good evening!:D

Hi all, I am feeling very down and feel guilty for feeling like I do.
I had a very happy time with my Mum, We had a good chat and sorted out so many things after so many years, both in tears but hopefuly a lot wiser.
She hasn't been the best Mum in the world but hey, who's a perefect Mum.
(Remember, I am the one that made our 2 DD's watch Val Doonigan and The Paul Daniels Magic Show as punishment for being naughty)

CHALKY, I can understand how you feel about missing your Mum. yes, it is like a ladder of life, When my Dad died I suddenly was put up 1 rung on the ladder. Now I am on the top rung. I didn't think that would happen. But then I think It's better than the alternative.
Sorry if I am rambling, just wanted to chat.
Thank you to all who have been patient enough to read this to the end. :o

Had a long chat with DS on Skype last night all about his wedding next May. So nice to feel included. His fiancee even wants me to go with her Mum and her to look at dresses but I think it is a really special time for Mums and daughters so I dont think I will go

Chalky - Please re-think, check with her she does not mind you coming if you must, but if she is trying not to exclude you, grab it with both arms, and go. You don't want to be a stand-offish MIL I am sure, don't let her think you don't want to be part of it.

Just had a call from Dad's home that he has fallen out of bed, so they had to send him to hospital just in case. There is a inflatable mattress on the floor at the side of the bed, so I think he will be OK, don't want to go and give him my lurgy as I am stil croaking. Going to ring the hospital in a mo.

Glad you had a good Piggy time P-P.

    Evening all
We've been out most of the day, when we got back hubby watered the tubs & baskets, I made tea & made a loaf of bread for packup's tomorrow. I'm now struggling to stay awake as I babysat last night for DGS & DGD & didn't get home until 1.
Katy is flying home middle of next week, but is probably leaving me on Saturday, her friends are coming to get her, so that saves me worrying about getting all her suitcases to the station/airport.
She has 2 interviews on Tuesday & if she doesn't get either of them she will apply to return to our school.
I've explained that I will look for another lodger, but if I haven't found anyone by September then she can come back. If I haven't found anyone by then I'll be in desperate need of the money, lol.
    Have a good evening.
    Hugs Hester
