Hi, this is the Daily Thread for today. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before y ou go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Good Morning All
Nice sunny day with a blue sky here - probably peaked too soon, and it will change later.
Welcome to the new arrival - name please or is he keeping you too busy??
Well more sorting/clearing out yesterday as weather was duff, I did the bathroom, incuding the above and under sink cupboards, I don't think I need to buy much for a year or so:eek:  managed to sort out and even labelled where things should be as my dear DH likes things tidy, so just puts them in a cupboard - any cupboard - any shelf, then I think I don't have any more buy some more, etc., so now all on organised and labelled. Cleaned everything, then DH washed me the bathroom & kitchen floors, after he had blitzed the worktop in the kitchen. I also sorted some shelves in bedroom, clearing two completely(all ready for building work when we come back) :j :j :j , have some jeans /jumpers and white elephants stuff for the charity shop on Tuesday.
Had our Sunday Lunch yesterday with a nearly £6 Beef Joint yellow labelled at Asda down to £3.23:T :T, half left for today, with enough veg too, so easy microwaved ready meal today. Now what to do for a pudding:rolleyes: .
Have a great Sunday and ((Hugs)) to all.

Morning.
Sunday and the sun is shining. There are also some huge rain clouds, so I can only guess that it will chuck it down with rain later too.
Church, I hope this morning. Although I could get a call from work at any time saying coming in early. I hope not.
Busy old night with some good stuff going on.
Everything seems to be faring well in the garden. The hatching eggs are incubating well, although I am down to 13 from 20. 6 were not even fertile, so I could not do anything about that.
Well have a nice day everyone...NO to pasty tax We won!!!! Just shows that people power works! Don't be apathetic to your cause!0 -
Hi again - Donny-Gal! What time did you get up this morning?! I was up at 5am - slightly later than usual! How's the cough, by the way?
The weather looks more promising than yesterday - we didn't gt the rain that was promised but it was gloomy all day.
SMOKY - (((Hugs))) to you and the LOs.
PENPIN - although you won't be reading this you are still being thought about!
MRS MIX - (((Hugs))) to you
CHURCHMOUSE - :j :j :j
I haven't had time to read the rest of yesterday's thread so I haven't caught up with any new news; I will try and read it later. We spent the afternoon at DS2's having great fun on their new Wii doing the Fit thing and some sporty ones. We didn't think we'd like it because we don't do computer games but I must confess we really enjoyed it. It is a lot of fun and very sociable when there is a group of you. I was next to useless at the sports but not too bad at the Fit. It gave my DH a 'fit' age of 50 - a year younger than his actual age! For the rest of us, it made us several years older - he hasn't stopped crowing about it! It also said he is a 'muscle legend' so that's gone to his big head, as well! Anyway, loads of fun; we're very impressed with the technology - we now just have to justify spending over £200 on it so it may be a while before we get one! Especially as I really want a sewing machine!
Anyway, today DH is hitting the bottle (of dye - for my hair); he always puts it on for me because he's patient and doesn't rush it like I do! Then he has some paperwork to do which I shall have to type up later but, apart from that, we are going to have a lazyish day.
By the way, PINK, I made the chocolate mayonnaise cake yesterday and it's delicious! I made it in a big roasting tin - it's huge! DH is very impressed with it! You were right about it being a big chocolate 'hit'! He took over the icing bit because I was putting it on with a cake slice and it reminded him of a plastering trowel! Anyway, as soon as he finished he knocked my great big pepper grinder on to it - it made a dent shaped like something not fit for a family thread so we are now calling it a 'd**k cake!
Anyway, I'd better go - I'll catch up with you all later. Have a great day!

Well the day of the barbeque has dawned and it's blooming freezing here! Oh well the best laid plans etc., Just downing a cuppa before the madness starts, I have loads of salads to prepare and must vacumn through as well, I hope to get to Church as well if i can. If it rains dh and ds will be sent out into garden with a golf umbrella, beer and the gas barbeque and rest of us will be huddling indoors! It was so nice this time last week!Hopefully it will improve by next week when we are away in Norfolk.
Hope you all have a lovely Sunday.
((((hugs)))) to Smoky, PP, Mrs mix and anyone who could use one.

Good Morning All
Lovely and sunny here, hope it stays like it.
Mioliere - I dont play normal games like PS2 etc but I love the wii - really is a family thing. I neglected the wii fit last week - will get back to it now.
Was contacted by an old friend via friends reunited last night - havnt spoken in 20 years so it was very nice to catch up.
Have lots to do today, 1 load is about to finish in wm and a couple more to do. Some ironing but not a hideous amount. Forgot to get the beef brisket out of the freezer last night so need to sort out some dinner.
Gonna finish my tea and have a quick surf.

Hi all. Sunny here at the moment, let's hope it lasts.
Hugs to PP,and anyone else in need. Congratulations to PippaD, little boys are gorgeous
Had a lovely night last night with my girly friends, it was so good to catch up and the food was scrummy. Got home fairly late, slightly the worse for wearbut am still up bright and early this morning.
This morning I have a few chores to finish, then this afternoon I have a l-o-n-g choir rehearsalwhich will take up most of the rest of the day unfortunately. I shall be annoyed if the weather is good while I'm stuck indoors! DD brought me in some plants yesterday that she'd got from a charity sale and so I would prefer to be planting those out really. Oh well.
Have a great day everyone.

Good morning everyone,
catz - hope the BBQ goes well, they are saying next weekend (tha bank holiday one) is meant to be a scorcher, so i do hope so for your break!!
Kathy and Essex girl - we are hoping to save for a wii fit, heard so many good things about it (not sure i want to know how fit i really am tho!!!)
DG - you make me feel lazy, all i did yesterday was come on the computer, chat to friends and bung some jacket potatoes in the oven!!! Saying that, i did defrost the freezer, so that was a good job out the way, so i suppose i can say i did something!!
Neav9 - Good luck with the remaining 13 rggs - how much longer until they hatch? I was looking at eglos yesterday (would love one) but at £359.99 its a bit beyond our price range at the moment.
Taplady :hello: - good news on DSs job, im sure OH will calm down about it soon!!
Shez :hello:
Tru :hello: - how are those baby piggies getting on?
mrs mix :grouphug: thinking of you xx

Well, today is DSs presentation afternoon at the football club. its not the official one, just one the manager puts on for some fun and fund raising. The last 2 years ive won a bottle of champagne in the raffle, so im hoping for the same this year, as it helps out at christmas. They are raising funds to take the boys to Amsterdam next year, for a football tournement. His manager said that parents should be able to go for £280 (they should raise enough funds to pay for the boys, we have been fund raising for over 2 years now and they are hoping for sponsership too) so luckily, my £2 coins have already paid for me to go, i just need to find out how much an extra child will be, so i know how much we need to save for DD. Hopefully he will tell us today.
Thats prob it for today, im up early to get my clicks done as we are out the rest of the day, wont be drinking/eating much unhelathy stuff as today is weigh in day, not sure how im doing, but im hoping ive lost a little bit more!
Hope everyone has a lovely day,
Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
:hello: Mrs F, you snuck in while i was typing!!!0 -
Hi Kathy
I think it was around 5 am when I awoke, usual imm. visit IYKWIM, took a couple of painkillers as had a bit of a headache and wanted it gone (it has), went back to bed, but couldn't get comfy, heard a sigh or two, so got up around 5.35am, easiest option, been on laptop on my knee in the lounge with a coffee since then:Djust about to make another - Cough almost gone, and nearly feeling back to normal. Thanks for asking.
catowen - come off it I have hardly done a thing for a week before that, I have laziness off to a fine art.

Morning all
Back off holiday, and back to normal (or at least what passes for normal in this house)
Congratulations Pippad, little boys are gorgeous, just wait until he hits the terrible twos
Lovely sunny day here today, so DH just getting ready to go to the allotment. I managed to get my potatoes in before we went away, but need to get my onions planted. I also have a couple of fruit trees that need planting.
I have a leg of lamb, so will put that into the slow cooker, last time I cooked a joint in there, I stood it on some potatoes and that stopped it being too wet, so will do that again.
Have a good day everyone xYou're only young once, but you can be immature forever0 -
Morning all.
Still tidying the motorhome before "me Julie" gets here tomorrow
Attempting "toad in the hole" for tea and while the oven is on, possibly a batch of Twink's hobnonbs and some scones.
Not much else to say atm, I'm far too happy to think straight these days :j so have a safe day everyone and my thoughts are with anyone hurting.
