Hi Y'all,
Bright and sunny here in the emids and I've just loaded two airers with whites to bask while I am at church so rain guaranteed for later then. LOL.
I must admit that even though the blue/whitebells are on the wane the garden does look lovely. If it is warm enough I may be tempted to 'take the air' for an hour this afto with a glass of wine and a Robert Parker I picked up at the library. Having spent hours last week rubbing down and teak oiling the garden set someone has to test it out and my hand went up first. LOL
Church again this evening and then off to an organ recital - this living life on the edge is sooo wearing!!
Many thanks to TWINK for being so thoughtful to arrange a card for PenPin on our behalf.
LOL @ Martyn. *OS TIP* - Shaving foam rubbed on and polished off camper-van windows stops them steaming up should things get...erm...steamy! You sound one happy boy.
Ivyleaf - nice to know you are still around.
Gotta go, hugs to all

Morning everyone
not often I get chance to post in here, thought I would make the most of it this morning. I am useless at keeping up with everyones news then posting about it but must congratulate Pippad on the new arrival, wish VickyA luck and will offer hugs all round for those who need one or would like one
My oldest has had me up since 5am which I am sooooo grateful for so drinking coffee to try and keep myself awake. Really sunny here so far so going to pop some things on the line which have not dried on the airers yet, well actually I might just put the airer outside then when the rain comes which is forecast it's easier to get in! Ds2s snuggling in the quilt his Dad left downstairs, I think there is a dog under there somewhere too (he sleeps on sofa when getting up early after being at work) Chickens still defrosting so pleased I got it out first thing yesterday. Spuds are peeled, beans are done, just the carrots and yorkshires left to do I think but not doing dinner until 6pm.
I think my day will consist of playing with the boys, reading with them, helping DS2 with his gardening (well as much as I can as I am not very greenfingered) studying and maybe some baking aswell as a few housework bits and pieces. One day I might be more organised...........

Good morning!:hello:
I haven't read the rest of the thread yet, but didn't manage to post for a few days so thought I'd just say a quick hello
((((HUGS)))) to Mrs Mix, Candygirl, smokybabe and everyone in need of a hug today.
Catowen - so glad to hear you've got the new children coming:T
MATH - lovely to see you, please drop by more often if you can! (I knew you'd posted because I just scrolled down a bit;) )
YoungBeans - welcome to the daily thread:wave:
N9eav - so sorry to read the other day that the rabbits got your veg - how frustrating:mad:
Having to give church a miss this morning as I realised I really need to rest today or I'll regret it later:rolleyes: though DH has just pointed out that yesterday I told him we need to pop into Asda today for a few bits and pieces - not that one can really "pop" in there on a Sunday as it will probably be packed out
- will see how I feel later on.
Mioliere - hope your roadworks are finished! Our road's done, though yesterday it was closed "except for access" and each day is a new adventure as we try to work out which way the diversion's going to send us this time and whether we'll ever get home again
Dinner will be roast shoulder of pork - I considered getting a shoulder of lamb yesterday - something I haven't cooked before, but it looked so tender on the "Tonight" programme this week - but then when I was looking at shoulders of lamb in the butcher's I realised I hadn't a clue how big it needed to be to make a roast and a shepherd's pie for three people:o Looked at my cook books when I got home, and the only one which told you how much meat to allow per person was good old Marguerite Patten, who said to allow a minimum of 8-12 oz per person including the weight of the bone - so for 2 meals for three I'd need a joint about 4.5lb I supposeAny advice about shoulders of lamb will be gratefully received!
Off to read the rest of the thread now and will try to pop back later:wave:
Best wishes

By the way, PINK, I made the chocolate mayonnaise cake yesterday and it's delicious! I made it in a big roasting tin - it's huge! DH is very impressed with it! You were right about it being a big chocolate 'hit'! He took over the icing bit because I was putting it on with a cake slice and it reminded him of a plastering trowel! Anyway, as soon as he finished he knocked my great big pepper grinder on to it - it made a dent shaped like something not fit for a family thread so we are now calling it a 'd**k cake!
KathyXX
Glad you like the cake it's very nice, ummm do you have pic of the d**k dent?? :rotfl: :rotfl: would love to see it!....my DD is going to try and make one this week.PinkPunkBird
