Hi!
I am going to a Hen Party in a few weeks and as part of the hen present they are putting together a recipe book of the 'chicks' favourite recipes. I want to send them a bread and butter pudding recipe. I'm not a great cook but I remember doing a B&B pudding that had 8 eggs in it and it was amazing! Does anyone have a really yummy bread and butter pudding recipe that has a lot of eggs in the custard?
PS - Hen is South African so I think the Bread and Butter pudding will be a good british twist

Hi spugzbunny,
I had a quick look on google and this recipe uses eight eggs, but not having tried it I can't say whether or not it's any good.
This thread has more recipes that may help:

I'll add your thread to that one later to keep the recipes together.

Hi everyone,
I have had a quick scan through this thread and was wondering if there is a cheats version that I could make?
My idea was to use slices of the gingerbread, smeared with marrow and ginger jam with some birds instant custard with some demarerra sugar sprinkled on top.
Would this work? If not, all I have is some skimmed milk powder and an egg...Man plans and God laughs...Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. I have 3 tubs of Weightwatchers custard (reduced to 9p :money:) - does anyone know if I can just use that over my bread instead of the egg/milk mix?
Should I water it down first (with milk)? Should I leave it to soak for a few hours? Will the custard set or stay runny? HELLLPPPP!!!!!!"Men are generally more careful of the breed(ing) of their horses and dogs than of their children" - William Penn 1644-1718

Hi
I bought a 400g spiced fruit loaf (Bread with fruit & spices in it( from Asda on Christmas Eve for 10p. I thought I could use it today to make bread & butter pudding. Does anyone have a fool proof recipe?
Also I have no ready made custard so I thought I would try hm. The last time I made it it curdled and looked like runny scrambled eggs so need another fool proof recipe!
I have loads of eggs, milk & sugar which I think are the main ingredients needed!
Thanks0 -
we have a bread and butter pudding thread and a homemade custard thread
Hope those help and we will merge this later
