Sorry if that sounded a bit sharp (just read it back to myself!) it's just a rarely put cream or unnecessary fat/calories in anything! I use fromage frais in mash potato instead of butter/milk - that sort of thing!
Enjoy you B&B - a lovely winter warmer on a day like today!0 -

No you didn't sound sharp, not at all.
I must admit I'm always a bit reluctant to use cream as my OH is a fitness fanatic but he loves his puddings so I'm always trying to think of ways to cut down on the fatty ingredients and I'm pregnant so I definitely don't want any unnecessary weight gain!!
This is the first winter pudding we've had this year so I hope it turns out ok!

Hi melt,
Like skint_cat, I just use milk to make bread and butter pudding. There are lots of recipes and variations on the main bread and butter pudding thread so I've added your thread to that to keep all the replies together.

I've got half a white loaf thats gone a bit stale and a tin of ready made custard - how do I make bread and butter pudding? trying to be good and not waste the bread!
thanks0 -
Bread and butter pudding is buttered sandwiches of bread soaked in an egg, milk/cream and sugar mixture, then baked. You can add dried fruit too.
I'm not sure you will get such good results using ready-made custard as that doesn't have eggs in.0
