Paypal Compulsary on all listings from June 3rd

Absolutely, but as I've said before:
"Their gaff, their rules."
If you don't agree with their rules, feel free to set up your own site in competition of use an already established competitor - I'm sure your local newsagent will more than welcome the extra business. But you can't use ebay and make up your own rules just because you don't agree with theirs.
Also make sure you are not cutting off your nose to spite your face. eBay has a much greater potential market audience than all its competitors (one of its major attractions) and a greater market audience means a greater chance of selling an item at a higher price outweighing the extra cost of marketing (ebay/paypal fees).
I agree again - as posted earlier I have e-mailed to ask them about protecting their sellers no response. They are happy to answer about protecting buyers though. I will offer paypal as a choice on my listings, as I have no choice. I won't accept it though - would you?DFW No. 344

If you don;t accept paypal when it is offered your career on ebay will be very short lived. It is a reportable offence and as soon as you get some non performing seller complaints and a neg or neutral you'll be out under the bottom 5% of sellers rule.
You've got problems however you do it, if you mark your listings that you won't accept it then even casual buyers can report your auctions and they will be pulled even before they finish. If you don't tell buyers until they agree to buy then it will make you look like a scammer and you'll just get negged.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I've been OK with collections so far, I've been listing them with Paypal and resonable P&P charges, with a note in the listing saying if people wish to collect to contact me at the end to see what arragements can be made. I then explain if the wish to collect it will need to be paid in cash and why. If they agree I refund and they collect and pay, if not I post.0

I'm currently selling/sold large items though - settee, chair, swing, wardrobe etc. They have to collect these. Looks like ebay have it all sewn up - take paypal and take the chargebacks or don't list!DFW No. 344

The only other thing you can do which will not help with Paypal is to make sure you have photographs of them, make sure whoever collects signs for the collection and show some proof of who they are and where they live, take copies of them.
Then if they start a claim through Paypal you can get a crime number from the local police and pursue them that way.0 -
Can't find an announcement, but as I understand it sellers will be allowed to put 'cash only accepted for collecting in person'..0

The pinks are still denying that on the ebay forums, did you see this link or did someone else tell you about it.
If ebay have backtracked over this then there is hope for us all and I might not feel so despondent about the whole ebay thing.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Well that's just great! I lost my paypal account over a year ago when a buyer decided that he didn't get his psp I sent!
So, now I can never again use ebay, just excellent.Just because you made a mistake doesn't mean you are a mistake.0 -

If you could track it to delivery using a paypal approved postage method you should have been able to stop the chargeback easily.
Otherwise yep, no ebay selling for you in future.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. My boyfriend actually sent the package for me, he hadn't ever used ebay or anything and didn't think to get any proof! I went nuts at him at the time but I should have said really.
All a long time ago, I got over it and I've been quite happy using cheques but now I can't do that. I reckon ebay might lose a lot of customers doing this... not everyone can or wants to have paypal.Just because you made a mistake doesn't mean you are a mistake.0
